    90006 error code on Mac

I play on Aether/Siren and I've been getting the 90006 (and on occasion 90002) error code for about two weeks now. I'll get kicked every 40 or so minutes. Every solution I've seen only offers help for windows, otherwise I wouldn't have asked. I've restarted my computer, restarted my router, tried using a vpn, and redownloaded the game and the problem still continues. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Is the computer connected directly to the router through an ethernet cable or are you using WiFi? Additionally, where do you get disconnected in game?

I will get kicked anywhere, in overworld, instance, and duty. I've tried bout ethernet cable and wifi and I get the same results (kicked.)

Not Square-Enix support, but... out of curiosity, have you tried a gaming VPN? ([URL=https://mudfish.net/]MUDFISH[/URL is a good one, and cheap/borderline free.) If the issue is somewhere between your network and the datacenter, trying a gaming VPN will potentially route around it. If a gaming VPN still dies on you, then at least you've ruled out the pipeline between the two ends and know the issue is at one or the other.

Alternatively, if the computer's portable, taking it to another location—a friend's house, whatever—and trying to connect there will help narrow down if it's your network or FFXIV's end.

Basically, trying to tweak variables until you can narrow it down to where in the overall network path the issue might be.

If none of that works, the open source network logging tool Wireshark runs on macOS just fine, and I suspect some of us here can help talk you through using it to try to see if any additional data can be gleaned from it.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - Ensure the latest version of Safari is installed on your Mac (even if you don't use Safari.)
    - After updating, open Safari browser and make sure that all Browser History and Cookies/Web Data have been deleted.
    - Please also make sure that "Cookies" are accepted and not being filtered.

Once these options have been adjusted, please run the Apple Update program to check that all firmware is up-to-date on you Mac OS. Once this process is complete, please re-launch the FINAL FANTASY XIV application.

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
