    So if they're going to make mounts useable in dungeons:

    Then can we add a toggle to the way mounting and dismounting works in other games as well?

    Specifically, in games like SWTOR, WoW, and a few others when you run up to an enemy and hit an attack your mount instantly disappears and you begin combat like normal. Don't have to wait for a dismount animation, don't have a "can't do that while mounted" message, and so on.

    I understand some people might enjoy the delayed dismount (for whatever reason, the idea that any one could boggles my mind) but I know that a faster/instant dismount is a quality of life change I've been wanting for a while. So rather than make a change, I'd suggest adding a "quick/auto dismount" option for those of us that have been wanting it for a while.

    The mount-in-dungeon thing appears to be a separate instanced thing, not actually running around in your Expert Roulette dungeon with a mount. It seems to be under an "Explorer" mode version of that dungeon, which lets you use limit breaks and mounts freely. At least that's what I understood from the translations.

    I think you’re misunderstanding the live letter.

    They are adding a new mode of play called “explore” mode, kind of like certain in game quests (nier storyline) where you revisit a dungeon without mobs/obstacles etc. in these cases mounts will be allowed for..well..exploring and looking around. Most likely for screenshots/posing/rp.

    I only emphasized it in combat but I should have added it to my OP.

    I'm asking for a toggle for an instant dismount to skip the little animation when we hop off. I know it's a brief animation, but it's something I've been wanting for a while. It would be nice to just hit the dismount button and the mount instantly disappears so I'm not locked in place anymore.

    You can...still move? When you're dismounting? I don't understand the issue because you can still move while you're dismounting. If you're bothered about us not being able to do any actions to dismount automatically, keep in mind that this game works in an entirely different system than WoW or ESO, and has to operate under much different parameters and conditions. Just being able to do something that you can do in another game doesn't mean it's easily implemented in this game when development resources can be better spent in other areas such as bug testing, encounter design, and server performance, and just saying "but I want it" doesn't change that fact.

    Honestly I'm kinda excited they're doing this from an RP perspective if that's the case. I've really wanted to RP in some dungeon locations (unsync'd and with consenting people mind you, not forcing myself on a random duty group) but the kick timer just doesn't make it worth it if you prefer to do any long form writing.

    For now it's just the 5.X series dungeons, and we can already roam around the Nier raids after we've cleared those. Hopefully they'll allow us to poke around the Ivalice raids, there's a lot of neat little details hidden around those.

    Aw, okay. Something I'm curious about is how some dungeons will work exploration-wise. Dohn Mheg, for example, starts out as nighttime but then changes to day, even if you go back to the start.
