QoL Change to an Item in game

I think the game would benefit from the same changes the Glamour Prisms went through for the following specific vendor items.

    Grade 1 Dark Matter
    Grade 2 Dark Matter
    Grade 3 Dark Matter
    Grade 4 Dark Matter
    Grade 5 Dark Matter
    Grade 6 Dark Matter
    Grade 7 Dark Matter

Removing the Grades and leaving it just as Dark Matters no Grades nothing. This will remove 6 items from the game in total, and also streamline it in general. Some people will say, well you need grade 1 to repair lower-level armor. But no you don't. You can repair any of the armor lower than Grade 7 with a Grade 7 so there is really no need for all of these in-game. Save some space and make it a mid-range price for the single one.

While I'm not against this idea, I cant help to wonder where the QoL-aspect is?
Because you're right: You can repair any armor with Grade 7 Dark Matter, so thats all you need to carry around. The other six might take up storage space in the database, but they really, really dont need to take up your inventory space (as you pointed out yourself). So unless its really bugging you not to use the most optimal (aka cheapest, aka "on level") dark matter to repair your gear, the issue you attempt to solve can already be fixed. And if you're that deep into optimising that you carry around anything but Grade 7... well, you might have an entirely different problem in that case...

To me is the less items to worry about for repairs especially for new comers. To me really doesnt matter much since I am maxed on everything, but having to remember to buy a tier 6 to craft an item is silly. Having to carry different sets to conserve money due to the price differences will also benefit new comers to the game. Especially those who are starting the game and dont buy additional retainers and the such. Or are still learning about the app that gives you the saddlebag. Mostly more to make the start game easier for new players and remove uneeded items in the game to be honest.

One thing this suggestion ignores is the prices of dark matter which is the only reason they exist as separate items. They range from 4 gil for tier 1 to 200 gil for tier 7. It's not a huge difference, but SE would have to make a decision of which price point to set it at. Either max level players will get cheaper repairs, lower level characters will get more expensive ones, or some combination of both where they meet in the middle.

yeah its why i mentioned for it to be a midrange price. something that wont break the bank to new players, but the thing is new players will have to be leveling up crafters to even be able to use these for repairs? so they should be able to make some form of money to handle that if they are crafting and building up their classes. At least I would think. I know there are people who are really bad at managing money both in game and in RL XD but that is a different thing. but yeah its why I said at the end of the post that if they find a decent price it would be a good middle ground.

There is a lot of work that goes into having your DoH leveled up so you can repair your own gear. (Less so now that you can easily power level them with Ishgard restoration) so the cost behind them should be re-evaluated and the reapair materials consolidated at that point.

No thanks. I like being able to repair low-level gear cheaply. Especially with new characters.
