Macro / Hotbar equip an item?

Hi I have posted this query here as it may be the most appropriate place.....

Is it possible to create a macro which can then be assigned to the hotbar in order to equip an item - namely the Ehcatl Wristgloves? I've tried placing the item itself directly on the hotbar but that does not result in them being equipped then I click on them.

Any assistance or clarification that what I seek is impossible will be appreciated.

Create a seperate Gear Set with the Ehcatl Gloves and put that on the Hotbar. Seems like the solution you seek, but would only work for one class that is assigned to it.

Yep thanks I was resigned to the fact that this may end up being the only way - bit of a pain but I guess I will just have to do it.
