Dear Devs: Please lock threads that are 3-6 months old without new responses.

Personally, I'd rather see the troll or trolls dealt with than impose new rules on everyone. The devs have said they prefer to have information in one thread rather than multiples and there are cases where adding to an old thread might be a better option than opening a new one. Prior to this, the function wasn't noticeably abused.

I also feel very strongly that it's wrong to make the entire community suffer for the actions of what appears to be one person. As people have stated above, take the ability to necro away and they're simply going to find another way to abuse the forum and annoy people. They must be having so much fun right now, the lastest necro from 2015 has got a few replies and they can always hop in on an alt and keep the pointless discussion going.

The solution isn't for the community to subject itself to a load of new rules, it's for this person to be dealt with by the moderators and if necessary their forum privileges revoked.
I've said it before, this trolling makes the community look bad and it makes the company look bad. I really cannot believe this issue is being left for the community to resolve while those with power are apparently sitting back and doing nothing.

I don't doubt it, they have put a lot of effort into ignoring advice and suggestions for a long time in all kinds of other subjects. I guess the team might stretched thin or maintenance mode for coivd19 related reasons?

I have been frustrated and have said some uncouth things a few times but I try to look at the real problem instead of get agitated with a few bad actors among the paying customers and sometimes that doesn't have anything to do with the game or its' team either. Coming to the forums to ask or answer a question or voice a concern should be a few of the primary functions we go here for. What we get here is like an advocacy support group mixed with people who want to kill the scions and people like me who really feel the story writing is horrible and pvp is terrible and housing needs some serious reconsiderations. It might be a tough group to moderate for people who are not into our customs or some other issue we aren't fully aware of.
