    Garuda= Toughest Fight yet?

    They are feeling very strong about this one.. like its going to take a pure strategy just to "maybe get a victory". Ifrit Was hard took 74hrs 58mins and 33 secs, Moggle Only took 6hrs 18mins 57 secs, however, that fight was ment to be a Playful Primal ( if you consider it a Primal).

    However, Garuda is a wind based Primal. Wind= People are going to get Blown around alot ( Assuming this is one of the Effects this battles has) , in which All mages really have to:

    - Time their Spells Accordingly
    - Stay out of Range of any Blowback Attacks
    - If Aerial Blast is a Long time Wind Explosion, that means everyone MUST be full HP at the point of Aerial Blast.

    I mean.. Did you see that HUGE Tornado? Garuda's Pissed off Screech? This fight won't be a push over.. in fact I expect it to be harder than Iffy, because of the Wind in General. Mages will be the hardest Jobs to play on this Fight.

    Any other Additional Predication about the fight, that you think will be in there?

    For example, they could easily "borrow" the Amphiptere's move sets from XI for Garuda, since someone mentioned "SE would never do something like wind knocking back players..."

    Well...

    Reaving Wind: - AoE TP Reset and can put up a shield around the Amphiptere, which will constantly knock you away from it.

    I have no doubt they'll be very creative/evil with wind based attacks given their history lately in their other MMO lol. Garuda v XI was a pain as well because she also had healing/haste (wind based xD), so it really COULD be the toughest battle yet.

    oh yeah wind knock back will be a pain in the butt. what other enfeeb can wind do? silence? dot?

    Wind (least in XI MMO wise) was Silence, Haste, Knockback, DoT, (Blue Mage Wise..) Blind, Evasion+, TP reset etc.

    Addendum: Blue Mage

    Wind -
    Blind
    TP Reset
    Haste
    Absorb (Dispels from mobs, transfers to the Blue Mage)
    Defense Down
    Shadows (Blink)
    Stat Down (opposing element, Earth in XI at least.)

    So if they do enough care/creativity with it, Garuda can indeed, as stated, be one hell of a fight lol.

    I think Ifrit took so long bc people had to get materia geared as well. This fight will be more similar to moogle bc everyone serious will already be geared up for it. So its merely strstegy.

    I don't think its even going to matter if one is Geared up for it or not.. If Healers Can't do their Job Accurately, because of Blowback moves which will Negate their Spells. I believe people are going to have a rough time with it Regardless, if they are well-geared for it or not. :P.

    What's Wrong with taking the " Simple Mechanics" of what made FFXI Primals so great, and putting it in to FFXIV? It is Garuda after all :P. She is one Hot mama to look at...... LOL.

    It's easy to find information when you need a reference lol, especially for a 10 year old MMORPG. Plus it's not "borrow everything from it", it's to show they've already have a good base to work from given their last feats with making "unique TP moves" that can create something challenging. I mean, the "female" form of garuda is pretty much an iconic XI symbol when you hear "garuda", most rarely remember the pure avian version from FFIX or FFX.

    So when you think of devastating wind attacks, you generally think of Tornado or high tier wind spells like Aeroga/ra/ja, but when you take into consideration heavy wind attacks you're left scratching your head because most FF games rarely had "element" attacks, just attacks that may happen to have a element property to it that you can negate or absorb, so a quick reference to wind attacks and it's effects from a previous MMO they created is perfectly fine, especially since it's pretty obvious they're going to keep the signature moves for well known summons already. (They have so far, it's very likely they'll continue the trend.)

    People are too hung up on "its from FFXI" to see the reasoning behind it, especially since the question was what have they done before in regards to wind so you have to look back to know what else wind is capable of, no? Especially since the only game that really put creative spin on elemental attacks was their last FF MMO, the other games was still the basic copy & paste elemental wheel.

    Besides, if we're talking about borrowing from FFXI, do this: Google Search - Gallant Surcoat, see what comes up :P It's less about "borrowing" and more using it as a reference point of what they've done before, besides you never really had "primal fights" in most of the past FF games, so a comparison to XI is probably the best one you can make, because while you fought them in previous games, they were never always regarding a story or additional challenge for the summoner to fight in many, you just kind of...gained them as you went (Crystal/Fayth/Buy/Hey I'll join your cause/Gem stone off enemies etc.)
