Rank decay is just an excuse for bad players who cant get into top 100 board. Just play start of season if you cant reach gold rank anytime soon thats on you as a player, because gold/plat is that range you want to be to get alot of matches.

ive done plenty of Seasons where i just get to Diamond and stop because top 10 and and even rank 1 isn't rewarding enough, i could do other stuff in the actually game then Feast.

You really sounds like finding an excuse for yourself and living in your little own world.
To bystanders, for others that know how Feast system works, you sound you are trying to avoid rank down and prevents other from from climbing.
Top 20 I would agrees they are real Diamonds but current Top 100 does not really reflects skill.
The horrible que time is a game stopper for many others.
If you have played first 3 seasons where ladder will show each player's match played and Win/Loss ratio you will not surprise to see players that climb there by corpse piling with a ratio of 20% winning rate.

Feast population size is too small so you need new measures to increase the base player population; otherwise, it is a dead end no matter what.
FF14 does not have a population size allowing rating matching and need a rating decay to flush people and keep them continue to play.
Again, I don't really give a damn about Feast, just express my view since I am seeing Feasters drinking poison to stop their thirst.
