Why do we need achievements anyway???

Some people require a reward for doing something or they don't find it worthwhile. While there are people who play a game for the enjoyment of playing, there are others who seem to play primarily for the rewards. The required activities for them are merely "a means to an end", or a "necessary evil".

That's a pretty close minded view of a large population of players. For me, I play the game because I enjoy playing... and achievements just enhance my experience

Well every MMO does this blind map thing, and I liked that FF14 didn't. I guess it's better than FF11's map system, where you had to travel all over the freaking place to buy maps.
