    Sounds like fun. Always enjoy map exploration. just hope its not tuned like GW1 map exploration was. I liked GW1. but running down a side of a rockface to get .001 percnt of the map exposed wasn't fun exploration really.

    Also gives mea good reason to run around grabbing the current aetherytes now. so i can have that done before i get to do it again! wee!

    This is funny I have been trying to get my aetherial gate achievements today and if its fake difficultly like 6-7 lvl 70-80 mobs all huddled up then no.

    But if its something interesting then yes make it challenging by all means, if jump is in 2.0 from the start then maybe something with platforms etc to get to hard to reach places..

    I can't wait to go exploring in 2.0 and uncover all the maps, this is what I was hoping they would add.

    Unlikely we will get the spells, but they could add the potions and salts.

    oh and add mobs that agro to spell casting, like those elementals
    Elementals are pretty rare in this game outside of leves, I don't see the point for this one really.

    I very much doubt aetherial gates will exist after 2.0, considering the area's will be zoned now each zone will probably have its own aetheryte and that's about it.

    For the most part those aren't even hard solod all my gates and nodes with as little as 3 deaths and only due to me being impatient.

    I don't mind high ranked monsters blocking my path as long as with patience and knowledge I can get past them. Can't say I'm keen on platforming my way through areas...

    Well I spent almost 2 hours trying to get one gate today and ended up given up because there was no way past the monsters at Lasthold in the black shroud.

    What you find fun I find damn right stupid.

    Of course you aren't keen on platforming :P, are you one of those who didn't want jump added by any chance ?

    I"m gotten a majority of the nodes and while I can understand your frustration what challenge would there be if they made all the "Exploration" areas easy as pie to get. Would you really feel like an achieved explorer if you found all the nodes with little trouble lol. The point of achievement is to be challenging it's not something everything can get, sure some people can get more of one achievement then the other but overall things like explorer achievement is for those who are willing to take the extra mile to get past the strong enemies that block them from achieving their goal.

    lol so I've started to "explore" again, when you realize the tricks behind certain mobs it can be pretty fun. The red clippers won't aggro if you walk behind them, as long as they don't see you moving you can get past them just gotta be patient and experiment XD.

    Yea because it would still require a vast amount of time, what we have right now is not difficult it is insane.

    There is a small window of opportunity to get through to some gates and its all based on luck... luck as usual, luck should not be the deciding factor on how difficult a challenge is. (at least not in my opinion)

    Actually crabs are sound aggro, you can walk in front of them behind them or anywhere around then as long as you are walking they won't aggro.

    The ridiculousness is when you get:-
    Drake - Sound based
    Raptor - Sight based
    Boar - Odour based

    All in the same tiny corridor, there is no way of getting past them, drakes still have ranged attacks so can one shot you without any problem.

    This is my problem, now if the monsters were level 60 I would have no problem, but you don't stand a chance against something 70-90.

    For me challenge would be fighting your way through to a gate with a few like minded people.

    Climbing a cliff like Attowa chasm in FF11, finding your way through a maze like in eldomine necropolis, jumping up platforms etc, there are many better ways to incorporate challenge without relying on cheap tactics.

    I loved not knowing where I was going in FFXI! It was great, because you had to quest/buy/farm some of the maps and until then you had to remember where the hell you were going. It made the zones seem a lot bigger, LTP was GIANT to me when I first started playing lol!

    I hope the exploration/reveal is about the size of your casting radius, anything smaller and it'd be a pain...

    They are staying, it was shown in some of the new concept maps, the question is if all the camp crystals are sticking around if the nodes till still be available (2.0 Concept all had a 'dysfunctional' camp crystal). I wonder if they are going to force us to go attune with the camp crystals again or if they will be ready to use when 2.0 comes out. Most of me hopes they won't, but a part of me doesn't want to lose all the time I used access the attuned paths. I guess one could call them "1.0" achievements and start from scratch.

    Yea, I just hate how convenient they were haha. Although, in the current hideous world of Eorzea...I'm not against it! <_< But 2.0 should bring in beautiful maps you should never get tired of seeing.
