Why appply a filter to names of anything?

This may seem crazy, but the language filter really annoys me sometimes.

NPCs in the game are allowed to say "shit" and such (though they spell it differently) and allude to inappropriate things (stick your manhood in the forge) but we are held to a different standard, and *inconsistently* at that.

    Examples:

I was allowed to use the correct spelling for my name in creating a square enix account. However, neither the forums nor the game itself would allow me to use the name correctly spelled.

I'd really appriciate it if the name filter could at least be a little less touchy- Especially considering players can have linkshells named things like "Ass Kickers Anonymous" but I can't have my completely reasonable name just because it has the word 'anal' coincidentally buried in it. It's not fair to limit us like this when the game text is allowed to use it and certain other things are allowed to as well.

My friend couldn't use his name from FF11 cause the letters "gm" were in it, not even at the start of the name. I hope they change these naming rules for 2.0.
