New to DoL, got some simple questions

Hey there! I recently capped to level 80 my first DoL, Botanist (as a matter of fact I've got Miner to 80 too but I'm focusing on Botanist atm).
Since then I've farmed Yellow Scrips to buy the book of Norvrandt, then farmed lotsa White Scrips to get the 5 pieces of the Level 80 tier 2 set.

    I'm wondering two things:

    1) How is the DoL game flow supposed to be? I mean on DoH you get full CP on each synth, DoL don't get this luxury and you can't rely exclusively on Cordials because of their cooldown. So... how are you supposed to keep up a rotation (like the collectable ones) that requires you to spend ~600 GP each attempt? Do you just wait for your gauge to replenish as you go to another zone waiting for another legendary tree/bush to pop? Or what? I'm curious to see if I'm doing something wrong

    2) What are you supposed to do when u've got the best Scrips-originated gear? Keep farming Yellow and White scrips... but what for? Any other activity? Something to get gil?

    1. you either wait for gp to naturally regenerate, or use cordials. your GP regen rate has two upgrades by the time you reach level 80. if you can't wait... then netflix while you gather?

    2. hoard materia from scrip for pentamelding blow ups or to sell on marketboard. there are other niche things to buy as well with scrip as well as crafting ingredients.

If I remember correctly, the improved GP regen traits are locked behind first completing the level 70 class quest then reaching level 80. If you haven't completed the class quests, that will help. Between that and Hi-Cordials, I usually don't feel like I'm stuck waiting that long for GP to regen. My GP keeps up with running between legendary nodes, even if I'm logging in and out between 2 characters for each node.

I don't bother farming for scrip unless I'm running low on Hi-Cordials. If I'm out gathering, I'm either gathering materials I need for crafting or working on achievements in Diadem. If you're gathering legendary materials on a regular basis, Extraction will take care of most, if not all, of your materia needs (especially if you're using a Squadron Spiritbond Manual and Superior Spiritbond Potions). It's easier to farm Aethersands than farm scrip to buy them. There are the vanity items purchased with yellow scrip (housing items, chocobo barding, orchestrion rolls, etc.) if you want them.

Legendary pops tend to be spaced out enough that you can regen all your gp naturally just as the next one is about ready to go. If im farming sands i use a combination of cordials, waiting, and strategically respawning the node to try to get a favorable condition(+2 swings please).

As for what to do once youve leveled up and gotten your gear, there isnt a defined end-game routine for a gathering class the way there is for a combat one. Some people try to make money, some work on achievements, some gather mats to craft with, some set the class down until they need it next. Your path is yours to determine.

If you are doing a timed node rotation HQ watered cordials + the enhanced GP recovery is enough to refill your CPs in the two game hours between node pops.

Otherwise its Hi-cordials and using your GPs wisely.

On Fisher you can get into a rotation with patience and cordial which means you’re never waiting more than a few minutes for GP unless you’re needing to use certain skills like double hook and the one that scares fish away.

On BTN and MIN it tends to be okay if you say do a special node, then travel to another zones node using cordials and the GP Regen traits.

There is no really effective way to just go normal node collectible hunting or really even going for many HQ items on normal nodes. You’re always depleting your GP to 0. And even a cordial doesn’t get it one hundred percent back.

So for normal nodes your best bet is actually to have good equips, just gather what you can and only use your skills when you come to nodes with good traits like 100 percent hq or a high gathering yield. I don’t do collectables on normal nodes personally.
