Suggestion: "anti-materia" that convert one stat into another on gear

Some jobs struggle with wanting more of a stat than gear already has, for example, BLM and Spell Speed. In these cases, the job can use Materia to meld more of that stat and reach its goal, and the Materia system works effectively as a bonus players can utilize.

However, other jobs struggle with wanting less of a stat than gear already has. For example, some jobs's rotations function more effectively or more comfortably at specific Speed values, such as DNC wanting zero extra Skill Speed (because otherwise, it just sits around and clips its gcd every time Standard Step becomes available).

For jobs that want less of a stat than what is already on their gear, they can't "un-meld" a stat in the same way that, eg, a BLM can just add more Spell Speed.

It would make gearing more interesting if "anti-materia" (or whatever) were implemented that subtracted one stat and turned it into another. For example:
    • You have 573 Skill Speed, but you want no more than 380. Therefore, the extra points of Skill Speed is essentially pretty close to not having those stats at all (because the bonus to dots and auto-attacks is ~irrelevant).
    • You meld on a total of 3x "Anti-Materia of Inertial Aim" (or whatever) to your gear, converting -180 Skill Speed into +180 Critical Hit and leaving you at 393 Skill Speed (significantly less wasteful).
    • Now, gear pieces that might have been considered useless have become appealing and useful gearing options.
You could have, say, 2 "anti-materia" slots per piece of gear, separate from normal meld slots.

This would give XIV something vaguely similar to WOW's old-school Reforging system, which also allowed a much wider variety of gear pieces to be considered "worth wearing", while also spicing up the currently bland and predictable Materia system.

The relic systems been doing this for a while now, but a long time ago i suggested letting raid gear do this, or be a respectably higher ilevel than even tome gear, but mostly just let them choose the secondary stats they wanted so it would truely be bis.

this is literally why you mix and match raid gear/tome gear to get bis. if you are not savage/ultimate raiding then this request is pointless because any gear you have will be fine to clear any other content. min/maxing only goes so far in this game.
