Considering how both the GNB quest NPC and Yoshi-P both go out of their way to describe how different Bozjan and Garlean gunblades are, I doubt we’ll get any Garlean ones.

I think that may be where the disconnect is. People have become so accustomed to the Garlean gunblades in the game. But the gunblades we actually have work the same as FF8's. And with that most of them are also bigger gunblades as well. All of Squalls gunblades bar Revolver and Shear Trigger, were quite beefy. Then Seifers was a much more skinnier blade as well in the form of Hyperion
