Chocobo turning color on its own?!! ;O

Steps:
1. I dyed my chocobo black and it stayed that way up until today at least. I noticed tonight as i was changing my chocobos barding that he wasnt black anymore and i KNOW he was black because I named him "Blacky vii" after I retrieved em from the stable after waiting the full time of 7 hours i think it tell you to wait after the last fruit is fed to em. But anyways he was black after i got em back and i noticed now as of today according to the "companion menu" he is now Rolandberry Red. i was like "WTF?!" how long has he been like this? He was black now hes automatically that red color ALL ON HIS OWN?! I have not stabled em since i had turned em black nor done anything special with em besides change barding. Other than that, hes just been killin things with me and such. I looked this issue up online and this has apparently happened to oither players also, also they noticed it when they changed their barding just as i discovered the color change with my chocobo! Has anyone else heard of this such phenomena? Or has anyone else had this happen to them?! Also I know for a fact that only the owner of the chocobo is the only one who can feed it, even in a FC stable for example. So it didnt get misfed. Also if this helps the specific color i dyed em was "Soot Black".

I think you are probably a step or two from getting black color? Some colors like ink blue look very black until the chocobo is in broad daylight.

I fed it just like it told me to on the chocobo calculator site. All i do know, he sure wasnt any type of red before. So should i try feeding em a couple more fruits that are inline with the soot black feeding order? In order to hopefully make him black?

The guide will be better than i can suggest, but i know there is this really weird situation of limbo, where your bird could either be snow white or soot black, it took me a long time with guides even to get mine to soot black, but it would often fluctuate to rolanberry red iirc. You just keep track on what you're feeding it, use the guide as a guideline, and if you know anything about color theory, itll help you a little bit. You are close, though to being there. now its just a fine line of feeding it 2 or 4 of this or that. Mines been soot black since patch 2.x whenever it came out, but it was hard to get it to go to that color and not some red/brown which it would often fluctuate between. The guides are very accurate but sometimes you might have to rely on your gut feeling as to something to randomly add to keep the color where it would/should go.
