Red Mage is very easy. Samurai requires knowledge of how to do its rotation loop in order to provide respectable damage and to take advantage of its greatest strengths. It's one of the "easy to understand, hard to master" jobs.

Just don't be alarmed when you have 50 levels worth of skills the moment you unlock it. Be sure to look up a guide so you can understand how it's played. But how it plays at 50 is roughly how it plays at 80 as well, you just get some new tools and abilities along the way.
