    Give NPCs names

    I always feel really bad for the nameless NPCs. Not the untargetable background NPCs, but all the "Independent Mender", and "Junkmonger", and "Gold Saucer Attendant", and such.





    Like here. There are seven NPCs manning the main desk at the Gold Saucer but only those two have real names. Why are the repair and food vendors so much more important than the TT card vendor lady or the Mini-Cactpot guy? Give the TT lady a name already!


    Edit: Drat, I mean to post this in general, but I guess it works here too.

    Also remove "independent" from so many job tags. It's a huge bit of text that has no practical meaning.

    (Why is the GS repairman independent anyway? Isn't he employed by the company?)

    I still feel sorry for that nameless Auri caretaker from the Inn at Journey's End who was important enough to get voice acting in a cutscene and later reappears in Kholusia with our other named friends from Amh Araeng.

    I like to imagine that somewhere out there is a hellsguard named Independent Merchant, founder of the Independent Trading Company, and he makes everyone else adopt the name when they join.
