Player-Run Farms?

I keep seeing this be brought up, but we haven't heard anything about this since expac announcement right? Like is this still a thing even in concept? Any news around it? I've found one forum post from late Stormblood but that's it any info would be appreciated.

There have been a few mentions about them since the original Fanfest announcement, mostly to let us know minions will be related in some fashion (disappointing to those who had looked forward to gardens not attached to housing). I also want to say that there was a comment they were tentatively planned for release as part of 5.4 in one of the 5.2 live letter interviews. Not sure if I can dig back through old posts to find the comment in a translation somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were put on the backburner as things were shuffled trying to get 5.3 completed. Would make little sense to push hard on the farms that don't seem to be generating much interest (at least not in NA/EU, think minions are more popular in JP) over content that players were already invested in (Resistance Weapons and Restoration).

An update I suppose, from the looks of it they had on the drawing board pre 5.2 release so only a couple months difference I'm expecting something about it in this live letter, part 2 of the 5.4 LL or 5.5 LL
