    See, I'd buy the argument that unifying job actions makes it easier for players to understand what is happening, if that was a systematic change. But then they would have merged down Sentinel/Vengeance/Shadow Wall/Nebula as well.

    The problem is that they keep adding jobs, but they clearly do not have the development team numbers to support the amount of jobs released. There's no thought or coherent decision making going into job changes. They're just putting out fires in response to an irritated playerbase.

    For real, not a whole lot makes sense in that department, kinda reminds me of the meme with the dog on the computer while the whole is on fire around it. One one end, you'd think they took some minor criticism in the past, for say these universal actions that "make a tank/dps/healer" but then, they dont do it for actions across the board like you said. I have no idea what they're thinking half the time, especially when they have establish lore and abilities for jobs, and implement something entirely alien to the franchise wearing the skin of something established

    This is actually one more example for role skills to be removed. Each tank has a gap closer but they all look unique to their jobs despite their same function. WAR's is definitely funky in execution and could stand to be looked at but it would remove some flair/job flavor if these skills were watered down into an identical ability. Gone would be DRKs mighty plunging animation and PLD's shield charge.

    Well they took all of DRK's kit away, why not finish it off with their most iconic ability that no other tanks had when it debuted. We'll even just call the cross role skill Plunge, because why not? /s

    Nah I totally agree with you though, and I've literally warmed up to OP suggestion, they already have the unique animations, just keep them as is. Also I want freaking shadowskin back. I miss DRK old sith lord sound effects. Cant even sound like copyright enfringement sith knight anymore and it sucks
    i mean i know powerman 5000 was all pissed about Sephirots theme song and all, but Dsny can pound sand.

    All gap closer have the same purpose,accomplish the same thing, dealing nearly identical damage except onslaught which is unnecessary chained with restriction and lower damage.

    If a way to preventing the exploit is a must then they could have put the minimum distant required for execution in the ability and then it would be a true gap closer but I'm afraid people want to keep it as a short recast filler ogc than a gap closer.

    Tanks never needed a gap closer. Then DRK came out, with a gap closer as one of it's class features the other tanks did not have. Now all tanks have a gap closer.

    Tank play the role of the Vanguard who charge into the enemy first. This is not the first game that Tank has been given a gap closer.

    It's ironic that the Berserker tank is the only one who can't charge straight into battle, needs to do a little warm-up first.
