Minority dragging down others is not cool. Glad Blizzard decided against it. About time. My sis plays this on 11 year old PC with high settings 1080p on. I don't even want to imagine on what kind of systems people still play this. They’ve stated previously that they are hesitant to raise minimum requirements because an increase would cut many of the lower end pc players out of the ability to play which could cause a massive revenue decrease.
Which I know this thread will eventually turn into “Ps4 is holding FFXIV back reeeeeeee” but.. its not.. low end pc users are. So figure I get that out there now.

S-E bothered to issue an enhanced PS4 Pro mode for ffxiv so you'd have to be crazy to think there won't be a native PS5 version too, when they get around to it. They investigate the suitability of all platforms.
Framerate /resolution boost for next gen is obvious but I hope they go the extra mile in improving things like lighting and anti-aliasing and bring those upgrades back to pc.
I like Phil and he's been on record saying ffxiv will come to Xbox, so both sides are wanting to reach an agreement on this. Maybe they are skipping Xbox One and working on Series S/X.
Devs mentioned an official ps5 version is being worked on but will come at a later time.(Current guess is 6.0 launch) That being said we havent gotten any info on a backwards compatible version, theres a little more that goes into it since the game has online interactions. Maybe they mention it on next live letter possibly even TGS.
