Having a customizable mecha the same way we have customizable chocobos sounds really cool to me; being able to dye it and augment it with parts to change the way it looks and functions. Aside from a potential Xenogears crossover, Square Enix should really consider expanding on the mecha battle we had by adding a mecha content that we can queue up as a group.
They could add in a New PVP mode just for that; seems like there is still a dedicated base for PVP in some Data Centers
or
Some kind of additional mode to Rival Wings.
Yeah...no thanks. I'd rather they expand on the XIV universe instead of shoehorning more crossovers into the game. The Nier raids already fit about as well into the world as a square peg in a round hole.
I know it's a themepark mmo but a bit of in-universe consistency would be appreciated.
I wouldn't want a direct crossover, but it'd be cool if future weapons reference even more Gears, Gundams, and other mecha.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
To add to the references now that I've done the SoW questline.
Hangar was definitely a xenogears reference, the view of the mecha, the options it gives you to ask about it, that was all just like the hangar in Xenogears.
The MUSIC at the end that plays in Terncliff later, has an opener like the Anima Relic/Zeboim music from Xenogears.
This whole thing had me see it as a giant Xeno reference which was awesome.
Name Meaning:
Nekaru = Neko + Hikaru
Infitima = Infinity + Ultima
I just want an actual G-Warrior mount. It's just collecting dust in some research facility somewhere.
Would not be surprised to see our Gundam in Endwalker. No way are they not going to reuse that combat mechanic.
Being someone never play XenogearG-Warrior is a reference to a LOT of mecha. The design of the "hair tentacles" is reminiscent of Overman King Gainer, the sound effect heard when it first pulls out its sword is the Newtype Flash sound effect from Gundam, Pyretic Booster's red glow is very reminiscent of Weltall's Id form from Xenogears, EP was the "battery" gauge for the Gears (mechs) in Xenogears, the Auto Restoration skill seems like a callback to the Frame HP (sacrifices fuel for HP) and Charger (restores fuel via using the Charge command) accessories for Gears in Xenogears, and the Ultima Buster is pretty much every giant mecha laser ever.
Pyretic Booster look like a reference for Gundam 00 trans-AM to me
Aetherial Aegis look like a Nu Gundam reference
those 2nd dialogue choices definitely scream Gundam reference and even Cid joke about it
Can’t say it is entirely referencing Gundam, but lots of it
I wouldn't mind that tbh, it is certainly more interesting than playing one of the Scions because they're just a basic job reduced to 3-4 buttons. G-Warrior is atleast somewhat new in terms of the abilities it has, and if they bring it back multiple times they could expand the amount of skills since everyone will slowly get used to them.
On top of that it would just be an absolute waste to not reuse it, quite a lot of work must've gone into creating the assets and animations for it.
I loved Xenogears, but man, leave it out of XIV. Tired of story content dropped into XIV that goes nowhere.
