Bringing it back to top...
They're not unaware of player requests for increased items limits. They've already acknowledged since the start of this expansion that increasing housing item limits is something they need to work on, though they didn't mention a time frame for when it might happen.
Some patience would be good.
100 for apartments and 200 for cottages isn't too bad (although more would be nice) but the 400 limit on mansions is really hard to work with.

True, but thet item number does not increase in the same way when you go medium and large where the curve should be raising it falls off, 400 item spaces in a large house vs 200 in a cottage.. base it on how much floor space is there in comparison, it is a problem that should had been tackled years ago... also how many cottages can you fit into a house?... a cottage is basically 2 apartments + a bit more space, there the ratio seem more in place sort of.
They did tackle it years ago. Item limits were doubled at the start of Stormblood. If you think trying to decorate a mansion with 400 items is bad, imagine how it was when the limit was 200.True, but thet item number does not increase in the same way when you go medium and large where the curve should be raising it falls off, 400 item spaces in a large house vs 200 in a cottage.. base it on how much floor space is there in comparison, it is a problem that should had been tackled years ago... also how many cottages can you fit into a house?... a cottage is basically 2 apartments + a bit more space, there the ratio seem more in place sort of.
Now that technology is advancing more and minimum system requirements for the game are increasing with those advances, they want to increase it again but they also have to make certain it's not going to cause undue problems.
Yes, the ratio of items to floor space is terrible. The ratio for a mansion is a third of what it is for an apartment. But a player's system needs to be capable of loading all those individual items without crashing or timing out. It wouldn't do much good to increase the limit to 1000 if players then couldn't enter a house because their system kept crashing or if it ended up taking 10 minutes for it to load. That's been a real problem for many players, who usually end up avoiding housing districts because of load times.
Let's wait for the coming patches maybe SE will include increase in housing item capacity in one of the upcoming patches.

I would dearly LOVE more room for items in houses and apartments.
May life bring you joy!
Players have been requesting an increase for years but it seems that it's not happening. Since they doubled the slots for Storm blood, I was hoping they'd double the slots for Shadowbringers but I was sorely disappointed. I don't think there was ever an official response why they won't increase the slots anymore or if we can hope for more as technology gets better.
2 years ago, I would have said apartments and cottages had an ideal item to space ratio. In order to have the same item to space ratio, a large house would need 1600 item slots.
That being said, over the last 2 years, there was a lot of innovation with ever more complex designs among global housing decorators and at this time, I don't think 1600 would even be enough for a large. A few days ago, I visited a large house on Famfrit the interior of which was designed as a high rise apartment. The apartment took up the space of maybe a private room in. The rest of this mansion was blocked off and completely empty. Obviously the design was gorgeous but my heart kind of bleeds for all that unused space. At that level of complexity a large house would need 6400 item slots.
Medium and large, still need an improvement. or they need to give options to change looks for internal walls and such and much more instead that would not require use of item slots.
