They're still two different offices, and two different groups of developers with entirely different product and resource allocations, but they exist under one management lead, Naoki Yoshida.

Anybody who has been following Square Enix's structural developments since April 2019 is not surprised by any of this, this is not new information and most of us have known Yoshi-P was working on FFXVI for a year and a half, just by process of elimination.
According to Wikipedia, Business Division 3 is now part of Creative Business Unit 1, not part of Yoshida's CBU 3.

    Wikipedia is misleading.

Recently, many employees were shifted around as several Business Divisions were closed. Division 1 is Kitase/Nomura, and is handling FF7R. Perhaps what Wikipedia means is that many of the employees of Division 3 were moved over to Division 1 when Nomura finished Kingdom Hearts III.

Division 3 was structurally and functionally a different division at the end of 2018 than it is now. It had studios in Osaka as well as Tokyo and handled Kingdom Hearts, largely. But the people in Division 3 now were not a part of those projects. They have been working on FFXVI since before Kingdom Hearts III wrapped up.

They were FFXIV (14) developers who worked on Heavensward for Division 5.

Then just call them BD5. Saying they're BD3 just causes confusion.

I agree it's confusing, but it's what happened.

I do call them Division 5 (in my last post about it on an earlier page of this thread) but it seems as if Division 5 was dissolved into 3 in the restructuring Square Enix underwent after posting a ton of losses in 2019.

What do you mean? Are you saying BD3 moved to BD5 or are you confusing Business Division with Creative Business Unit?

According to my understanding of what Wikipedia is saying:

    Yoshida's BD5 becomes CBU 3.
BD3 (KH) is in CBU 1 along with BD1 (main FF) and BD4 (spin off FF).
