The sad thing is even if this is a troll account, this won't be the end of foolish assumptions like this one. The damage is already in certain minds that even glance over the thread.

Why is it a foolish assumption though? I thought it was pretty appearant that Shadowbringers seems more like a budget expansion compared to previous ones.
Also, isn't creative business unit 3 the FFXIV crew?
You can tell just from that trailer honestly, the animations/aesthetic and even the damn font they used.
Personally thought they were working on the next FF MMO and thus cutting on FFXIV. Seeing FFXVI reveal though it all makes sense. And personally I'm not even mad, I'd actually love a full single player story from FFXIV crew considering what they can achieve with storytelling in a rigid MMO formula.
Edit:
From Square Enix Wiki page:
Creative Business Unit III is led by Naoki Yoshida who was the head of Business Division 5 and focused primarily on MMORPGs, transitioning in 2020 to the single player Final Fantasy XVI. It mainly comprises the former Business Division 5 (Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIV, Dragon Quest Builders series).

I would recognise that handsome Hyur anywhere. Titanmen, you are such a hot man.
The day one of these threads gets posted without someone taking the bait would be a day indeed.
The part when they showed the kids and the dog, and the clothes, that was soo FF14 art style , even almost Ivalice-like, and same animation. Why is it a foolish assumption though? I thought it was pretty appearant that Shadowbringers seems more like a budget expansion compared to previous ones.

I know right. People just don't get it they think that LUL new game must be handled by new team or they probably hire more people. Why is it a foolish assumption though? I thought it was pretty appearant that Shadowbringers seems more like a budget expansion compared to previous ones.

Before the reveal of FF16 I was wondering why they are withholding informations on e.g. like the new race gender which has garnered over 1000 comments. After the reveal of FF16 I more or less can fit the pieces on why such "creative" "design" choices were made.
I mean "let's create 2 new jobs and not have primal weapons made for them. Yeah I think that's a good design choice." seems to not ring any alarm to people. How about viera and hrothgar players every patch they have to keep asking is this hairstyle available for us? Is the hat/helm available for us?
Some of us have known this for a while and honestly felt it since it started in 2016. I hope it's awesome. We now have evidence that FF16 is the reason why we have only one dungeon per patch, no new deep dungeon, a delayed exploratory zone (Bozja), less and less glamours, still no female Hrothgar or male Viera, no Hrothgar and Viera headgear...
It's because all the resources generated by hard working FF14 players are leeched off and used to make FF16. People guessed that it would be FF7 remake but they're actually wrong. It's FF16. A director cannot simultaneously work on two games and talent in FF14 should not be poached off to work on FF16. We paid for FF14 not for FF16.![]()

You do realize that Square Enix has released over 200 games since the release of FF14 1.0? Why do you suddenly think that FF16 is any different? We now have evidence that FF16 is the reason why we have only one dungeon per patch, no new deep dungeon, a delayed exploratory zone (Bozja), less and less glamours, still no female Hrothgar or male Viera, no Hrothgar and Viera headgear...

I swear, not a single one of you who complain about this have any understanding of the way business works. Income coming in from all the games released in any given year provides SE with the resources to continue to produce new games. Resources are not 'leeched off', they are allocated to new and on-going properties so that the company can remain in business.
I can absolutely guarantee that Blizzard spent money they received from World of Warcraft on Hearthstone, Starcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. It's not robbery. It's standard business practice, to ensure the survival of the company.
Yes, you've paid for FF14, but it is entirely at the discretion of the business units to determine who works on it, and how much money goes into it in any given year. You pay a subscription for FF14, and your support ensures the business unit that they can continue to work on the next expansion. You have the option to stop paying for a subscription if you're that dissatisfied with 'return on investement' as a player. If enough players do that, the game is put on life-support (Final Fantasy XI) and/or canceled (Wildstar).
IS this guy serious?
