    Clearing MSQ, NPC + dungeons

    I am an old returning player and would like to finally finish the MSQ. I am currently stuck at Mt Gulg. I had to leave the party I ended up with in duty finder due to the difficulty as a first timer. The rest of the party was very rude/demeaning and they were rushing. I think they were all friends.

    It’s hard as healer when you’re new to something, but that is my only high level and I won’t have time to level another. So...is the the NPC dungeon assistance thing possible to clear in these high level dungeons? I tried it once but it seemed super slow.

    It is definetely possible to use the Trusts to get through the dungeons - in fact, it's quite handy to use to learn the ropes for them so to speak without having to deal with other players who may be impatient. I did Mount Gulg with Trusts as PLD myself and I had no trouble whatsoever. Trusts are slower than a typical player party that is reasonably competent though so if you're wanting to speedrun through Trusts probably are not the best for that. But just getting yourself through that dungeon for the main scenario, Trusts are the way to go.

    Bare in mind a trial battle is unlocked after completing Mount Gulg which cannot be run with Trusts sadly so you will still need a party for that.

    Might just need to make up your mind here. Do you want to go fast, or take your time?

    So the trusts seem like they were designed to be idiot-proof but at a cost of being extra slow(as a tank i fell asleep during the last fight in holminster, and the trust healer kept me alive as i stopped doing mechs or using cooldowns and this lasted until the DPS finished the fight - i woke up 5 mins after they won to victory fanfare and a chest to open). As a healer you could certainly still fail, but it would probly be because you let yourself die. The fights all go slower because the trust NPCs dont use AoE abilities, randomly prioritize targets, dont interupt abilities, and will sometimes stop attacking altogether while they do mechanics(yes, even the ranged ones who should certainly still be able to cast). A player group will typically be 10-15 mins faster because they dont always have the previously listed defects(some players will test this theory of course), meaning that a full player group could afford 2 or 3 wipes and still probly be quicker then the trust squad(with the added benefit that if you dont understand a mech you can ask rather then just try to copy what the NPCs do - and the added detriment that players might be mean). Personally what ive been doing for new dungeons is one trust run to take my time and look around(figure out the mechs on my own), then a normal run(once i finish the story) so im up to speed for when it shows up in roulettes.

    Trust dungeons are deliberately designed to take roughly 30 minutes, no more no less. If you are putting out heavy DPS, the trusts will do less damage and if your DPS is lacking, they'll do more.

    Give it another shot. It's unfortunate that your team wasn't all that supportive, but not everyone is like that. Since you're on Faerie just message me if you ever want to run content.
