Sometime it seems a bit odd.
I'd expect yellows with other yellows, greens with greens, and so on. I wonder how sorting is done here... but reds are fine. Maybe because I've just a couple of them

Not sure what they did last patch, but sorting in general seems to be a mess now.
As an omni crafter, I've always got a ton of materials in my inventory.
Ore used to be sorted with ore, wood with wood.
Now IDK wth is going on.
I think that the 'sorting' is done in the same order you see when you actually try to dye something. There are "whites" in the far-right dye set choice (and purples, and golds, etc), which is what I see in the 'sorted' order above. Of note is that there are the normal dyes (in order), followed by the green-background dyes, followed by the 'purchasable' dyes in green-background.
The majority of your dyes are the green "special dyes" with lots of colours all on the one tab of the menu. If you had more standard dyes you'd see them grouping into colours more.
Yep, I did figured out how sorting is done: standard first, then the shop/general purpose, then the metallic ones.
