Does FF16 use FF14’s Graphics Engine? Because I’m not a fan of the way it looks..

For a next gen exclusive title (and PC haha) I have to admit I am not impressed with the visuals. FF7 Remake and FF15 looks so much more better in my opinion. I just wondered why they did this, considering Square Enix is HUGE on graphics for single player games.

Then I saw that Yoshida has a major involvement with the game. Then I was like “oh....ok that explains the graphics. he’s made it clear he’s not a fan of pretty graphics.” Not hating, I just personally don’t agree with it. Although I’m sure the story will be amazing. I really like the combat too! It looks like a mixture of devil may cry 5 and FF15!

Question is, does anyone know if FF16 uses Luminous Engine 2.0? (Same one ff14 uses) FF16 looks like FF14 single player mode basically.

we don't know yet, but some people say the game runs on a supercharged version of the ff14 engine, others say the ff13 crystal tools engine .

    Really? :-o
I thought XVI looked closer to XV to me, at least in terms of rendering and texturing.
As for the engine, they haven't listed it yet but the last two big games SE have done, Kingdom Heart 3 and the VII Remake, were both done in Unreal 4, so I would image they might stick with that, now that they're familiar with it.

The faces looked very similar to 15 to me, but the environments, particles effects, textures etc were all far superior so I would guess it's using an updated Luminous Engine. FF7R used Unreal Engine 4, and while it looked good overall there were definitely some texture streaming issues present.

The texture streaming issues in FF7R are almost certainly due to hardware limitations rather than a problem with UE4 itself, and what was shown of FF16 looked like it used UE4 to me

They definitely don't use XIV engine. It was a failure used for FFXIII, and now it slows down XIV.
I'm sure they are using modified XV engine, because it looks almost identical.

Only 1.0 ran on crystal tools. 2.x runs on a modified luminous engine.

Unreal Engine games have always had texture updating issues. No matter if it's old or latest version

Eeeh... Unreal has had texture popping issues since forever so I'd be willing to pin pop in on that.

Anyway as for the visuals of FF16 it looked fine to me? Personally, though, I'm willing to trade extreme graphics for more content.
