Request: PS5 compatibility Questions

Squenix should say something... i don't wanna pre order the ps5 if i can't play this game on it... so now i don't know what to do. Pre order or not?

My advice, don't get a PS5 right away. Don't preorder.
Unless you have money to waste, I wouldnt get a new console right away at launch. Coming in a few weeks or moths later is actually better, so the early adopters can make it known if there are any issiues with the console. Come in later when those issues are fixed.
Im sure you arn't missing anything by not getting it day1.


But also, maybe 6.0 would be a better time to reveal if its coming to PS5.

Yeah pretty sure they mentioned ffxiv would be coming to ps5, just not at ps5 launch, its going to be sometime much later. Earliest guess is probably around 6.0 launch but more likely even later than that due to pandemic pushing back a lot of stuff.

Where was this mentioned? Do you have a link to confirm this information.

They said 99% of PS4 games will work on PS5 so I would guess that FF14 would work on it.

Yeah i just read about that 99% and now i have some hope... like why wouldn't it work. It has to work... it's not like ps3 to ps4, there was no backward compatibility.
