Request: PS5 compatibility Questions

Squenix should say something... i don't wanna pre order the ps5 if i can't play this game on it... so now i don't know what to do. Pre order or not?

To be honest, i bought ps4 pro because i thought that buying ps5 on launch... Well look at ps4 at launch, it got issues and it got better with 2nd gen and pro so for me i stay on ps4 pro until ffxiv is not supported buy ps4 then i will buy ps5 and i might even buy the 2nd gen or ps5 pro when that happens. But it's me, i had issues with my ps4 with fan noise and just 500gb so i decided to buy ps4 pro even tho i know ps5 is coming but ffxiv will stay on ps4 and i have a lot of games lol i'd say wait and buy ps5 when we know it comes or like me wait for 2nd gen or pro xD

Yeah pretty sure they mentioned ffxiv would be coming to ps5, just not at ps5 launch, its going to be sometime much later. Earliest guess is probably around 6.0 launch but more likely even later than that due to pandemic pushing back a lot of stuff.

Where was this mentioned? Do you have a link to confirm this information.

They said 99% of PS4 games will work on PS5 so I would guess that FF14 would work on it.

Yeah i just read about that 99% and now i have some hope... like why wouldn't it work. It has to work... it's not like ps3 to ps4, there was no backward compatibility.
