[Request] - Change visibility priority for enemies (Makes hunt trains annoying)

I understand SE has a lot on their plate but if I were to pick one important update that will transcend peace it would be to change the visibility priority.

    Issue:
When the amount of actors on-screen exceed a certain threshold (let's say 150) then actors including the enemy will disappear. This requires players to dismiss their chocobos, minions and if it's really bad, summons.

    Proposed Solution:
Change the priority of which the actors disappear so that the player character, their party members, companions and summons are first in priority and the enemies are second in priority, all other players are third in priority.

Example Priority from highest to lowest:
    1. Environmental Landscapes, trees and weather
    2. Warrior of Light (Player 1)
    3. Party members of Player 1
    4. Target Enemy
    5. Nearby enemies
    6. Companion of Player 1
    7. Summon of Player 1
    8. Companion of Player 1 Party members
    9. Nearby NPCs
    10. Nearby friends
    11. Nearby player actors
    12. Nearby summons
    13. etc...
    Proposed Additional Improvement:
Slider to designate how many actors / objects on-screen may be displayed at once. I believe the data is already transmitted but the actors/objects are not rendered / set to idle. PC players and soon, PS5 players could potentially handle a much greater amount rendered on-screen.

If you like this idea, please give your support!

This is already in the game... has been for years. If you dont see the enemy even still, then you're not close enough to it. The way it works is that it displays things closer to your first, then uses priority based off of that. This is so that people with bad PC's can atleast see the dungeon mobs right next to them, instead of the one wandering about in the distance.

So yea, simple solution, walk closer.

I support this. Hunt trains have become one of the few community based activities this game has, outside of Firmament reconstruction. This would benefit the game environment for many people.

They changed it for Eureka, but for some reason forgot/don't want to change it for the overworld. It's worth noting that s ranks don't disappear, can see them really far in fact. My guess is they don't want people ot spot A ranks too easily from far away like they can s ranks. Either way, the code exists within the game (Eureka) so they just have to be made aware that we need this change outside of Eureka.

I just don't know how it works... sometimes A ranks doesn't load for me. I see ppl and chocobos, minions near me and some ppl on the other side of the A rank.... weird. The A rank should load first, bc it's closer to me.

This is false or it's true but poorly implemented. If you're literally on top of the enemy or basically touching it, it still won't load when there's too many people. This is exactly why train conductors yell out to dismiss chocobos and minions.

Also you say that the solution is to walk closer but this is basically like Steve Jobs telling someone that they're holding the phone wrong and is the reason why they are getting bad reception. The game needs to be fixed, plus as stated, walking closer won't fix this issue.

Then let's hope the devs see this. I doubt they participate in hunt trains which is probably why they didn't ever fix it.

It absolutely is not in the game and does not work that way. This came up a lot as soon as world visit became a thing, and their response at the time was they cannot fix those clipping issues.

Your party, alliance, active target and focus target should NEVER be clipped.

They are. This is not good.

I wish quest NPC would show up before random players. I could understand party members before npcs but it sucks to have wait for NPCs to pop in because they are surrounded by other players mostly just watching CS so no need to have priority over said NPC.

I agree wholeheartedly, on PS4 A ranks being invisible is pretty annoying as it forces you to use AOEs and doesn’t allow you too see mechanics properly, forcing you to guesstimate what to do by looking at other players, think insta death when landing near Mudman and Supay’s gaze.

I gotta call BS on this, sorry, I’ve done hundreds of trains with various jobs and effects on and off on PS4, and no matter where I am I can’t even see the A rank let alone target it. Could this just be a more prevalent issue on PS4? Maybe, but I feel there would’nt be a thread discussing it if it was just a issue for a minority of players.

I know they've made the statement on a few occasions. The reason given is that it causes a lot of stress on the servers but that response makes me wonder if they're misinterpreting the request. I sometimes get the impression they think we're asking for have A Ranks render at a great distance the same way S Ranks will render at a great distance instead of what we really want - for engaged enemies within normal viewing range to be given priority over non-party players. It makes little sense for it to be more stressful on servers to give enemies priority than other players priority.
