Crashing on login to character when moving into The Fringes

I teleported to the Fringes and crashed out of the game, I cannot now login to that character without crashing out of the game, I can log into other characters in other zones,

If it is only happening with this one character, you may want to try deleting the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

It happens to all characters, and it only happens on PC I have no problems on PS4 but that does not solve the issue of being able to play, there have been so many posts in so many areas about random crash issues but never any solutions, if the game is unstable hen a refund for all PC licences would be needed. So instead of trying to gloss over the issue with restarts deletions and turning all background pocesses off why not actually give a working solution

Not Square-Enix support here, but if the crashing only started within the past month, there is a known issue where the August drivers for Nvidia can get into a bad (i.e., crashing) state if you have multiple overlays running. So I'd be curious what happens if you either disable the Xbox overlay and/or quit GeForce Experience, or downgrade to the July Nvidia drivers.

I honestly don't think it's the cause of your problem—people having issues with corrupted textures and whatnot pre-date the August drivers—but there's an outside chance it could be.
