Purpose of "Like" button

The community team reads the forum and gives the feedback of the playerbase to the devs in JP.

The like button helps them to determine what the community does or does not want. It's easier for them to see a post with a hundred likes instead of reading through 100 posts wich are all saying the same.

You also get some shiny medals above your avatar picture for providing and recieving likes.

Is that how that works? I always assumed it was just based on post counts.

Don't think it goes beyond 6 gold medals either way.
