Limiting max listings a player/retainer can post per item

Am the only one that finds this infuriating? When you get that one person who’ll post 15-20 listings of the same item, at higher quantities for a fraction of what it is potentially worth, leading others to do the same, thus effectively collapsing it’s value and making it difficult for anyone else to earn any money from it.

While I get it’s not illegal, it’s just darn underhanded, and I’m gonna say it, sounding like a child having a tantrum, but it’s just not fair!!!

I don’t know the technical side of things of what’s possible, but the introduction of a limit on the amount of listings each player/retainer can add for one item could help, say 4 maybe? and give everyone a chance at making some Gil. I mean, I get that it’s gotta be kinda competitive, but not at the detriment of other players right? This is a game after all...it’s supposed to be fun...right?

Bulk discounts for bulk quantities is fine. What collapses the value isn't that, but the incompetent sellers who come by later and aggressively undercut everything because they have no clue what they're doing. You can't really design a system to work around them without simply excluding them from the market board because their incompetence means they'll just ruin any market they come into contact with, regardless of what anyone else is doing. Market board slots are already very limited, so it's completely pointless to further restrict their usage. People who know what they're doing are already heavily incentivized to make efficient use of their slots, while people who don't know what they're doing will ruin everything they touch regardless of how it works.

I have to agree. people will be people and limiting the amount of slots is not going to fix the issue. The problem you are having is likely caused by bots, and all they will do is make more accounts to put up the same amount of items, so you end up only penalizing the real players, which wont make you popular with anyone.

Or you could just find something else to sell rather than try to compete against someone already set up to be selling that item. There are thousand of items to choose from after all, and if that player has all their listings dedicated to that one item then they aren't selling others.
