Also, a retainer is carrying 175 items. The dresser holds 400 with the potential to be expanded in future.
You can have up to 10 retainers (which I do), so the summoning bell can technically let you access up to 1,750 items (not counting the various equipment that you can put on each retainer, which is the equivalent of another 10 glamour plates, and the 20 additional items each retainer can put up for sale).

I actually did not know that - I had just assumed that you couldn't because there's no Glamour Dresser option. That's good to know, but it makes it even more baffling why they haven't created a Glamour Dresser furnishing yet...

someone with more knowledge than me can probably explain it better but my guess (and judging by what I've read around the forums before) is that the Dresser accesses those 400 items every time you interact with it. With you having the 10 retainers, going to a Summoning Bell isn't actively pulling up the theoretical 1750+ items, the items your retainer has doesn't load until you select that specific retainer so it's not even pulling up 200 items at that point. It's why when you select a retainer, that's that little waiting bit before they appear, that's the game actually loading them in

edit: just pointing out that I'm not defending it, I want the Dresser in my house, but just giving what I've heard/guess is the reason for it

If the amount of data sent/received is the problem, I don't understand why, then, you can access the Glamour Dresser at all. It would send/receive the same amount of data no matter where you interact with it (whether that be in your house or in the GC, inn, etc.). In my previous post, I pointed out why SE's rationale for why we cannot have it is just not true (i.e., you already cannot move / remove similar objects while they are in use). It would be nice if they would at least give an honest answer as to why they refuse to create this as a furnishing instead of giving a reason that doesn't make any sense because they've already resolved this issue with other furnishings.
