    I don't know what you're smoking comparing XIV to XIII in terms of linearity. Sure, the dungeons and raids are linear but XIII is one hallway from beginning to end excluding the little Pulse hub you spend like a couple hours at. XIV has real zones, towns and NPCs you can interact with, XIII has none of that. The "quests" in XIII are absolutely pathetic, they just took a dump on the awesome hunt system from XII and that's all there is.

    XIII has the most disjointed world out of all the FF games, the different areas might as well all be in different dimensions with how well the game shows and tells you where are at any given time. There's no real sense of the world as none of the areas are connected, you take an airship ride to a different location or there's a cutscene and suddenly you're in a completely different area, it's really bad before the party is all back together with the game jumping in between different groups and they're all in random locations. And this is all with no real way to backtrack either.
