FFXIV is too simplistic and bland

I'm not here to say yeah or no but people pointed out your "alts" level because people have done what you claimed to do before. They would come in and say this or that and we find out later they didn't even do the content. So you can't really get mad at people for pointing this out. You're never going to stop people form doing that. And as far as your latest post, all I'mma say is prepare to be disappointed because SE isn't changing the way content is dropped. All of those things sound like stuff you want from FF11. Or from single player games which this is not. So comparing FFX a game where they didn't have to worry about DLC for years vs XIV where they keep having to make content is not comparable. As far as XIV being simple.... I don't think from your exmaples simple is the correct word. Tales of the duty finder thread disproves that imho

And to be honest... with titanman running around. Yes, people are extra defensive so you posting on an alt looks trolly. If you don't like that maybe don't post on an alt asking for changes to the game and make trolly post. Just saying.

Haha. Does this game appeal to those with the talent of a cracked brick or wayward corpse? Of course it does. The gaming world is replete with self gratuitous and lazy specimens who barely have the attention span required to complete a 30 second video; and don't have to even move - yet still complain.

Such is the world of 2020 and its market. Ergo its developers milk the cow - because that's business honey.

You don't need such an extravagant or lengthy post to highlight that being the underlying theme and yes. Why expend effort and create a distinctive entity (which takes immense work) when you can placate with more of the same and earn an equal amount.

This however; much like your post itself; is subjective opinion. If you wan't challenge, don't ride in a bus with the majority who don't. It's their transport, their rules. You want to play with your own, concede the majority and find somewhere fitting your demands. You won't find it amongst the allergic to effort types that frequent modern gaming, believe me.

XI is a sandbox MMO. While FFXIV focuses more on story.

Sandbox MMOs dont really do well in todays market if they arent F2P.

Remember when FFXIV tried to be like XI with Eureka? Yea that was a good lesson learned.

I would be mostly content if:

1. The game rewarded players for time investment. (Achievement award system and veteran system updates.)
2. The game rewarded players for good performance. (Raid loot lasting beyond a single raid tier and every single piece not becoming immediately obsolete by crafted gear.)
3. There was an option to turn off the "you are here" and "you did this" nonsense that appears in the middle of the screen.
4. There were an auto/auto hide-reappear chat log options.

But considering I live in a world where the Simpsons, Family Guy, and stealing spoons and forks in Skyrim reign supreme, I doubt anything with artistic value or sensibility is going to be considered. I mean, wanting those very things has proven that I am some "T" word.

So oh well. lol

Those last two things aren't were people calling you a troll for. Least that's not what I was calling you one for. I was just saying it looks trolly to post improvements about content your current character has no access too. And that it looks fishy to post on an alt instead of your main. I mean you do you but thats the thing that set people off from what I noticed. And going by what others have said and plus given that the forums as of late are trolled daily by Titanman. You can see why people pointed that out. Thats where that was coming from. And like I and another person mentioned, it'll never stop because at face value it looks fishy. Not to mention the fact many people have done that and ofcourse people found out the person complaining hasn't reached or did the thing they are complaining about. So thats why. Just wanted to clear that up.

Same with aggro lines.

Aggro lines, permanent chat log display, and "you are here" and "you did this" notifications drive me up the wall like you have no idea.

They are very simple things, that I have absolutely no tolerance for.

The major change is in the market

face it, the success of WoW made every company want to have -that- game.. and the suits wanted the income
so games are made now to appeal to more than just the hardcore gamer.

it may not be popular to people with your views, but it seems to sell subs in an age where thats not a mainstream thing any more.
they cant please everyone, but they do please enough people to stay in business and keep working on a game that I generally enjoy more than WoW.
if being able to play with friends and enjoy my time is what that leads to as bad in your view... unfortunately, I'll take their design choices over your desires.

The only thing fishy, and questionable thing here is how volatile people are just because they don’t agree with me.

What’s worse, is I considered changing to my main because I’m getting tired of the needless disrespect.....

But.... then I remembered part of the reason I’m not.
