Yeah, but it has been around way longer? You can only compare the numbers from FF XI at the point where it had the same lifespan FF XIV has now...

Honestly I think OP is upset that XIV isn't XI.

XI was a product of its time. The mmorpg audience isn't the same as before. Every game genre evolves. It's completely normal. Not saying it isn't okay to dislike how genres change, just saying that it's a thing that has happened in every genre, and will continue to happen.

And personally a lot of what I heard about XI turned me off. I had some friends who wanted me to play it and when they tried to convince me how much fun it was they only ended up convincing me that I wouldn't like it. I had a busy job at the time so the idea of everything taking so long to do, and needing to find people pretty often to do a lot of those things, just made me feel I wouldn't have had the time to even try to enjoy it.

Yes necessarily. What you stated is just a scapegoat to cover it up. Sorry but, if you actually read what they say all around in present/past threads it makes you wonder - Is this guy serious or not. Some of the stuff said leaves you there like...What? Really? And it's more solidified when it's on an alt account. So, no. For me personally, i don't take anything serious from someone on an alt account.

If someone needs to hide behind an alt, it's because they know their argument isn't strong to begin with.

I played most FF games, and XIV definitely is one of my favorites, if not the favorite. Next is IX. I'm not sure I could even compare them other than them both having FF elements in them. I also think they are better than FFI, which I thought was a bit bland (probably just because it's old and games were designed in a different way back then).

What I want to say is that I enjoy FFXIV. It's not perfect, but I also don't need it to be more like the other FF games. No need to compare and complain all the time. If I didn't like it I wouldn't play it for years now. To me it's fun, and that's enough. That doesn't mean it can't be improved. But your post is a bit... much.

yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say your opinion is pretty much worthless if you think XIV is in any way, shape, or form, simpler than the older final fantasy games.

If you got an 80, just post as your 80. Dont be shy and use some lvl 25 alt. Otherwise, why should I take your criticisms even seriously when as far as I know you havent even hit end game, especially considering that we have our typical troll poster who pops in every now and then to repost crap from reddit or years ago on this OF?
