Blazefire Saber is still unusable by Gunbreakers

Well, it's not the same. It's a functional rifle and sword. Not the weird gunblades that squall and gunbreakers use.

Lightning gunblade functions in similar way as squalls and gunbreaker, kind of, it vibrates the sword for easier slicing. The issue is her gunblade is not as crude and doesnt use explosives/blast to create the vibrations, its more closer to Noctis' engine blade were it has an actual piston engine to create the vibrations, just also not a crude as her blade has some future tech that can freely tigger it and it prolly doesnt require any charges/fuel.

Except it doesn't. It is literally a sword blade attached to a gun with a mechanism to switch it between 'sword mode' and 'gun mode'. The gun cannot be triggered whilst the blade is out and the blade cannot be used when it has been put away. While they are both called Gunblades, they are different weapons and should be treated as such.

An updated version of the XIII event with weapons for the new jobs and 2-handed versions of the CNJ/WHM and THM/BLM weapons would be nice. >w>

Only if GLA/PLD gets Lightning's FFXIII-2 'Etro's Champion' gunblade and shield as compensation.

But as others have stated, the Blazefire Saber is nothing like the FFVIII gunblades that GNB's weapons are based on - the Blazefire Saber ironically is more closer in functionality to Garlean gunblades which are guns with a long bayonet attached for close-range fighting as well. GNB gunblades and the FFVIII original however are just swords with a powerpack connected that cause a pulse of energy in the blade when the blade strikes against a target, increasing the power in the blow - they're more properly called 'tremorblades' or 'vibroblades'.

As the FFXIII gunblades are basically a gun that can fold out a blade for close-quarters fighting, they just don't suit GNB I'm afraid.

I mean, it's a glamour. PLDs don't shoot bullets either, and Hope's Boomerang unfolds into a book for ACN which it didn't do in XIII, and the version we get of Vanille's staff doesn't launch her fishing hook whatevers. And given that we have Edda's Scythe for FOUR (Three?) different jobs, neither of which use scythes... I don't see anything wrong with Gunbreakers using it.

As many have pointed out its technically not a gunblade, more a weapon that can swap between a gun and a sword.

That being said, the female GNB idle pose is litterally lightnings pose, for that reason alone i dont think it'd be much to ask for us to get a GNB version xD
