Hardware Cursor: FFXIV Custom is Invisible

So I updated windows the other day before getting in bed. Wake up, log in, everything goes normal until I click on something, and my mouse cursor just vanishes entirely. It functions; as in I can still click things where my mouse otherwise would be, but the pointer is completely invisible.

What's more strange is I don't have this issue in 4k, which is my monitor's native resolution. Even if I drop the monitor resolution to 1440p (what I play the game in normally), the mouse cursor is completely invisible unless I play in 4k.

None of this occurs in windowed borderless. only fullscreen, but prior to the windows update I had no issue with the mouse whatsoever. I updated my graphics driver to the latest, I have the latest mouse driver, pointer trails are off, dpi settings have been tinkered with. My only solution seemingly thus far if I want the game in fullscreen is to play in 4k. I certainly can... but I'd rather not sacrifice visuals. And of course I can also just play borderless... but I'd rather not.

Does this issue happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Yes, I have determined that this occurs regardless of whether or not I have other programs running, I do not run through steam so I have even tried shutting steam down entirely. So far the only solution has been to play in 4k.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
4) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
5) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
6) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
