So I just reached Storm Captain, but I noticed in the character box it shows higher ones. What are the plans on those?

Name Meaning:
Nekaru = Neko + Hikaru
Infitima = Infinity + Ultima
If feels like the devs only add a single promotion per expansion as an obligation and not much else.
But if they can add more military uniforms, that'd be great.

they're not going to just hand out higher promotions just because, now that we're "getting up there" they will want to make sure giving those promotions make sense and so will have to create something appropriate and meaningful to justify those promotions.
sometimes I still wish to be a Flame Hero
Don't mind me, I'm just posting my opinions on the internet and watching how people react to them.
They've literally only added new ranks once in the games whole 7 year lifetime. The Highest up until mid-stormblood (so for about 5 years) was first lieutenant. Pretty sure they have no plans any time soon to add more.
2.0 Veteran from 2013. Just looking to be helpful. DRK is Love, DRK is life.
(Ignore the levels on my character card, the tool i used to make it hasn't been updated for 4.0)
Twice, actually. Once per expansion so far. At launch it only went up to Second Lieutenant. First Lieutenant was added in mid-HW and Captain in mid-SB. Maybe we'll see another rank next patch. Who knows?
The rollout on higher GC ranks has been *incredibly* slow. I would not expect to see the highest rank become available until the point in time the game is receiving its final content updates, if ever.
It's part of the log jam. They want new gc content associated with those ranks but they hardly ever get time to work on it because of all the other stuff they give a higher priority. So there's no time frame for implementation, just somewhere on the to do list.
This exactly. From their point of view it's not as simple as letting you have another rank. That rank has to mean something. If you are to be a captain you must have a squadron to command. So if you are a commander I am going to guess you need to command multiple squadrons.

So if you are a commander I am going to guess you need to command multiple squadrons.The squadron system was designed without AI on purpose because you are supposed to "command" them and tell them what to do.
Trusts have AI because you don't command them. They are your friends with their own personality and decision-making.
That's the reason we were provided for why squadrons worked so differently.hmmmmm. fair points. but it seems reasonable that, after the present level, the Trust System could take over. Then they wont need to work on two systems. Maybe individual members have to be ranked up.
For multiple squadrons, well that's a way to reuse Alliance Raids with some added content.
Additionally or alternatively, it could be a direction for Variant Dungeons to merge with, featuring more iconic GC members as you rank up.
