Mmh.Hah, glad to know I'm not the only one that did this! (Also hi Maeka!) I immediately keybind everything over to XI style on new alts, and also swap my UI to have the party on the right and the quest info on the left, because I could not overcome 10 years of FFXI muscle memory.
For me, left hand controls all macros, right hand controls movement on the directional keys, and camera with the thumb on the arrow keys. Mouse? What mouse? Oh, the thing I desperately avoid trying to use at all times.
Longtime no see.
And yeah, you even mention Keyboard Turning to anybody in WoW or FFXIV communities and you get looked at like you're a scrub or something, which is why I rarely talk about it, despite the fact that it works just fine in any non-Savage fight I've ever done.
I don't put the party list on the right though, though I could see why an FFXI player would like to do that.

Savage just fine too if you're doing it on SMN like I am! Honestly it's my internet that gave me the most problems. Charter Spectrum is butts and the snapshots in E3S resulted in my death many times....

I'm a mouse turner. Had to learn to be playing SWTOR PvP. Keyboard turning is extremely slow when in combat. I just wish this game was set up or had the ability to be set for mouse turning. As it is, my middle finger on my right hand holds down my right button so I can turn in an instance. Matter of fact, I've unbound A & D from turning (including S) and rebound them to strafing left/right and S to either a defensive ability or an attack. That said, I use a Naga Trinity and all 17 buttons on it too. Keys on my board slaved to standard keys, control, alt, and/or shift plus keys.
