PL Woes

I can see where you're coming from here.

I've never encountered a situation as bad as the one you described (a whm playing the game for a week and not even knowing how ESUNA works), but I have seen other detrimental effects of power-leveling. Sometimes, when I'm in a group, someone will ask, "Does anyone have [job x]?" There is always someone that says, "Yeah, but I don't really know how to play it." That's pretty frustrating.

I like learning a job's abilities as I go. It's exciting every few levels when you earn something new.

Yes, PLing makes for faster exp, but if you don't plan on playing the job, and don't know how to, what is the point of leveling it in the first place? ...So you can have your crown? In the end, being powerleveled to 50, in my opinion, removes the joy of leveling in the first place. It also makes it somewhat harder to learn the job if you don't receive abilities 'as you go'.

That said, it's a personal opinion. If powerleveling is possible, people are going to do it, and I'm not going to knock them for it... BUT, if I'm making a group for something, and you join as a certain job, I expect you to know that job as well as a person can. Some players are better than others, but 99% of WHM's should know what Esuna is and what it does. When your lack of knowledge affects an entire group's ability to succeed, shame on you.

Otherwise, your choice to powerlevel yourself will ONLY affect you, and in that case, I don't really care. You're only hurting yourself.

That's right, but to start playing a job where you already got alL abilities doesn't mind you don't know to read descriptions, test and practice. That goes with personality, wich is what I mean.
I have to agree that leveling a job through PL and later wont be able to use it because you don't know how to is a nosense.. There is no point in leveling something you don't like nor going to take your time to enjoy and optimize your performance.

I say: Let the PL live, it can be done and I support it.
If you ask me how to do things with your new L50, then don't count on my help, learn it by yourself =)

Of course, I meant about basic stuff, such as how to use Bloodbath, what is Antagonize and what does it do and things like that.

It all boils down to EACH THEIR OWN!!! what might be fun for you people might not be fun for others seriously if you guys have a hard time in pick up groups then just dont join one!! make a group with your LS its that simple...

PL or not

You ppl are complaining about Normal things in a community. XI not only had more lvls, but much longer XP curves and lower xp per hour when ToAU didn't exist. Guess what, we still had plenty of crappy players period. Time playing a job/class doesn't matter if you refuse to learn it to begin with or too thick-headed to take advice from others and research/test.

This was truly shown when CoP arrived. Being someone that beat CoP pre-nerfs there were tons of crappy players and they really stood out during this expansion. Cause CoP was no joke or breeze when it 1st arrived. A static with ppl that knew their job and were willing to try different things and listen to each other beat CoP pre-nerfs.

I have a question! I have a question! Is power leveling when a group of people go out and kill things for XP, or is power leveling the one where 7 people sit or stand around while a level 50 kills things for them?
