    More Ethic Hairstyles

I really like many of these hairstyles in FFXIV, but I wish there are more ethnic-looking hairstyles for males and females. For example for the Hyur, there's not much options for fade/short hair other then the one with the edge lord designs on the side. The male Lalafel have the fade option without that design. So why not make it available for all races to use? Not everyone wants that design on the side, so please make it available for Hyur as well.

Also, there's no dreads hairstyles. How about short, mid, and long dreadlocks?
Also, I would love to have Amarant Coral's dreads from FFIX, that covers your eyes.

Even Barret's high-top fade would be awesome as well.

Just something I was wishing since I'm a black Hyur player.

I think you mean ethnic, and in that regard I'll agree, there really should be more hair options to cater to everyone, sadly that's not going to happen quite yet.

SE launched a hair style design competition and we've just been getting the winning hairstyles for the last 'FOREVER' so until those are done we're not getting much, even then we'll probably see maybe 1 hair style in a blue moon because they use hair options as big prize pieces rather than dishing them out for customization like they should... Maybe we'll get lucky though and SE will put some funding into the game to get more options out without them being tied to prizes or loot so you can get a new haircut without spending 1,000,000+ gil.

Specially for Viera and male Viera (if they are added).
Just want to point out a correction, curly hair is not "ethnic," it's the natural hair of the human race; all other hair styles are mutations that come later, and thus the "ethnic" ones. The correct term to use in your thread title is curly or coiled.
Yes, bring more natural coiled hair styles.

Not to derail or anything but that's technically not true and there's more evidence against it than for it, to use an example all our ape relatives and most mammals have straight hair, curly hair is a mutation and likely one that occurred somewhat early on in our evolution. Further curly/woolly hair is something seen in other mammals as a mutation, even birds for example can have curled feathers, the likely answer is that curly hair is a mutation that occasionally develops and is bolstered by environmental factors where having that hair is advantageous. Whether it be a natural form of sunblock or better insulation or whatever, hence why Woolly Rhinos and Mammoths (ice age species) had it, it's also likely why some body hair is naturally curly as in all environments it provides an insulating element for more sensitive areas more susceptible to heat loss.

The groin, armpits, and neck/jaw are prime heat vents for our bodies and the genitals in particular can be very sensitive to temperature shifts which actually can and do interfere with procreation.

To put it more optimistically there is no 'natural' hair type, both curly and straight hair are hardcoded in the human race... just objectively one came after the other.

That's incorrect, you answered it yourself, one came after the other. One is natural, the one that follows is a mutation. Thus the second one is the "ethnic" one. We're talking about human hair here, not Woolly mammoths, apes, not dinosaurs, or whatever came before.

And the "ethnic" one is curly/woolly hair, straight hair is the one that came first.

No it wasn't, what are you going to say next? That bears were the first humans? I don't think you understand that humans and animals are not the same thing.

Yes, a variety of hair textures is sorely needed in this game. GW2 did a great job with their hair styles.

My only complaint is that the curly hairstyles don't bounce like they should. but I can't complain much because they actually got the backlighting and undertones mostly correct!

    Alright i'll bite. All hair textures are natural for humans. Mutations are natural. D;
There's no need to figure out who is the proper "other" :T

"ethnic" just means "of an ethnicity" EVERYONE has an ethnicity because yadda yadda social contruct. Usually when someone describes something as ethnic they mean it as an ethnicity not belonging to the majority of whatever culture they're surrounded by. I don't like to use it, but I won't get my panties in a twist if someone uses it to describe themselves. But if you're going to be pedantic, at least try to be right when you're doing it.

Could you guys take it outside? Y'all be derailing as heck.

On topic: To OP: yes I know what you mean and I'm all up for it. To future posters, let's tone down the encyclopaedic knowledge of hairs and just vote yay or nay, mmkay?
