It’s an inherent problem with WHM, it has such powerful GCD heals and MP restoration tools they can literally shovel out healing without a care in the world and be fine. Unfortunately unless your cohealer dies or you’re solo healing you never need such on demand healing. If my cohealer wants to do that I just fully embrace my glare mage green dps gameplay and look for spots I can dump my lilies (movement or downtime) and just keep on glaring.

For a moment I honestly wondered how you would even know what that healer did... ;D
They probably thought if they are casting some Glares anyway, it doesn't matter if they are healing that much, as long as people see their Glare cast bar in the party list.

I only really wonder why they didn't overheal so badly with all that Medica II. I saw them cast if at full HP or after Rapture quite often.

Next time I get a healer like that I just Glare more. And if anyone complains that I'm not healing I'll just have to live with it. It's boring, and I'm a little scared of people calling me out on not helping with healing, but when like 80+% of my healing was unnecessary, I could have just made that run faster as well...

This is a problem I've dealt with in the past. Usually I'll step up a bit, overhealing be damned, and see if they tone back a bit on their own... but frequently I wind up only really stepping in during an emergency situation. Ideally one has their cohealer in a voice call to coordinate things "I've got this AoE, you got the next one" kind of deals, but for most content I just accept that if they're going to reach for the heal button every time, they can be the one to heal it every time.

Except the healer who does that is the opposite of good and I am willing to bet they are new and inexperienced at healing. Expert healers know that it's not good or needed to keep people topped up 100% of the time. If there is ample time left before the next incoming damage then it's perfectly ok to let people sit low while regenss and ogcds do the work. Good cohealing consist of trading ogcds and resources with your cohealer. Instead of looking at yourselves like two healers think of it as being one combined healer. That is the key to optimal healing. This allows you both to maximise your damage.

You would be surprised how many "veteran" healers still do this even after several years of experience because they live in this "pure healer" dreamworld.

Yes, the hardheaded ones who refuse to change because they want to be lazy and sit around not contributing to damage. We all know those types. I don't count them and I'm glad I've seen a decline in that type of healer as of lately.

Let them heal imo, it’s best to wait till the party/tank is around half health to start healing properly, otherwise throw out them DEEPs

Also, if you’re having a hard time healing on PS4 then just use the D-Pad, scrolling up and down through party members allows me to get easy heals off and things like a perfect divination, a notoriously difficult buff to get up on console, (at least that’s what they say) almost instantaneously if I have a card drawn and both my cards are ready, RIP old sleeve draw

    pretty much what I do

recently i had an AST who was litterally solo healing E6S and just need help for the clutch moment where you have double raid burster and such. pretty much the only place i healed

the funny part he asked later "can you heal a bit more"
i explained him there was nothing to heal more since he'd do double helios after every single raid burst, there's no point in me healing if 2s after the damage has landed everyone is topped off
