    Difference Level

I would like to know why this issue was not addressed during the stat reforms, Dlvl(Difference Level) makes the following stats feel completely useless when facing higher lvl monsters especially when solo.

Defense: Everyone knows this stat is broken, that's why we see naked runs of Content in game. I'm sure many of you have ran across a monster that may be 15-20 lvls higher than you and then it one shots you for some retarded number, feels like once you go over a certain dlvl between you and the mob defense just gets completely ignored.

Magic evasion: See Defense, same issue.

Evasion: I don't even feel like this stat works even when I'm higher lvl than the monster, feather foot seems like the best way to avoid attacks still.

Accuracy: This one is not really broken but, Dlvl really makes this stat annoying to deal with. Fighting a lvl 53 mob, hitting about 90% of the time with food and acc rings and stuff, and the next mob I fight is lvl 54 and I am battling it out with air..Same mob its one lvl higher and my acc goes to shit why is that?

Shield block and Parry: Still trying to figure out why pld needs to carry these paper weights around again. Just feels like these 2 things do not proc when fighting higher lvl mobs at all, Only way to get a block or parry vs higher lvl mobs are Foresight/Divine Veil/ Aegis boon.

Can we please get a response to this, cause at the moment i just feel like why add materia and armor with these stats. Will all the stats be working properly in 2.0? Is it a game engine limitation?

I never saw the point in dlvl, allthough admitedly i am somewhat ignorant..

maybe i am too simple minded but wouldnt simply giving higher level mobs higher stats without the need for dlvl accomplish the end goal of being able to guage a mobs strength?

    is this too easy?

I completely agree with the dlvl issue. I noticed it a lot when I was lvling THM and was in a party on the 38-39 mitelings around Nophica.

I was the lowest level party member but my gear was the best possible at that level. (no materia though)
The highest level party member was also a THM but with horrible gear, mostly crafter gear and then some MND stuff.

However, the 3-4 levels that separates us made his at least DMG 20-30% higher than mine.

I was not as annoyed as I was simply surprised that 3-4 levels could do such a difference, and it made me feel as if gear just didn't matter at all. Even though gear is basically all we have to make ourselves better.

You can add crit potency to that list. Major reason why so many BLMs chose to forego the AF in so many slots is because all the crit potency it gives means basically nothing when facing a mob above lv 50.

Presently it really feels and appears to be:
Level is far more important than gear.

In fact, I think it's fair to say (in combat), having good gear or having two more levels over a mob, the better choice is two levels.

I'm unsure why this is, and what the true intent is.

I'm hoping.. really hoping.. one day.. Maybe with 2.0... they will sit down, and tell us what their true intent behind all the mechanics, and stats, and drops are... then we can play and say if their intent is being realized or not.

Now, we do not know if this is intentional, unintentional, or in-process of being changed.

That's why I've barely put any materia on my gear so far. Only materia I've notice is +HP, +MP, which is a given, and INT due to thunder combo dmg increase.
