    On firmament R3

    Am I missing something or SE didn't solve the problem at all?

    - Title, achievement are still tied together.
    - New set of ranking achievements, but same titles.

    So people who are happy with title from round 2 and ok with never ever getting these achievements, they can skip the rankings.

    For people who wants the achievements or the titles, they still need to craft/gather 10 hours a day for 9 days.

    For people already with the titles and still wants the titles for completionist sake, they still need to craft/gather 10 hours a day for 9 days and in the end they are going to occupy the top 12 ranks and deny other people of a chance for the title.

    The issue just got...worse?

    I'm not sure I follow.

    This is similar to PVP's seasons where players can decide to compete or not to gain the rewards.

    As the titles are identical in each Firmament "season", once obtained, one can simply stop, no?

    As for achievements (I assume you meant people who have the TITLE but want the ACHIEVEMENTS), they are simply not meant to be obtainable by everyone (only 12 on the entire server can get "Divine Ascension" for each phase).

    So yes- if it is so important for a player to get both "Divine Ascension I and II", then yes, said player will need to earn it by beating everyone else.

    I believe the original problem is that to even have a chance of top 12, you have to craft till you are about to quit the game. I did it. Not fun.

    If the achievements were separate from the titles and be personal like the community post suggested, there will be 0 reason to do this ranking thing again. (i.e. freeing up the top 12 slots per job for other people)

    By keeping the titles the same but the achievements still tied to the rankings...it just feels like this is like plugging a square hole with a round plug...still leaking.
    Doing it again means you get half the rewards for the same grind. Not doing it will make you miss the achievements forever....Not here, not there.

    I think that is kind of the point; the devs don’t seem to want you to grind each phase for achievements, but I can see what you’re saying.

    At the same time, it takes a lot of effort to see what achievements a player has earned, more so if you aren’t the player, so is it really important to get this achievement?

    It just boils down to:
    A) is an achievement only you will care about worth the headache/time involved to get it?
    B) are you able to wipe your hands of it and just walk away?
    C) are you having fun?

    If any of these are “no” and you are still pushing yourself to do it, you might want to reevaluate.

    If you can truthfully answer “yes” to all and still want to push for the achievement, that’s your call- nobody has the right to tell you “your fun is wrong”, but you should always be considerate of your mental health/well being.

    Again, not necessarily YOU, OP, when I say “you”, but really any player.

    That is irrelevant. The devs had the chance to make it at least tolerable for the community but went off the mark considerably in my opinion.
    The achievement and title should have been separate. Perhaps achievement from say...around 100k worth of synths achievable at anytime until the next phase and title from rankings.

    I do not know how many will go through the grind again but I am sure it won't be 0. And for every repeat, someone else who lose the chance will be bitching about it 9 days later. And those who go through it again just for the achievement will be bitching about it too.
    I am just...doing the rant... 9 days earlier.

    Ok..end rant. Time to craft...sigh...

    Titles, as far as I am aware, are intrinsically linked to achievements. They cannot give you a title if there is no achievement to track that you have earned it.

    They could create an individual-progress achievement separate to the achievement that gives you the ranked title, but I don't think they can be disconnected.

    You're assuming that everyone who ranked in the top 12 last time plan to do it again. That's clearly not true from the feedback that was posted after the live letter and before the announcement that titles would remain the same after all.

    There may be some repeats in the top 12 but there will also be new names present. Other players will still be getting their chance at the titles. As for the top 100, a lot of servers just don't have that many players actively competing. A relatively small of effort will get players into the top 100 on those servers.

    In what way is that worse?

    barely anybody on the leaderboards for crafting day1 :x
    2-3k points gets u top 12 for the moment on my server
    i guess a lotta ppl gathering, even if mats are dirt cheap?

    The new craft feel harder to me, due to reduced durability cap. Still quite doable, but my point/hr gone down a bit compared to P2.
    Maybe that partial factor too, dunno.

    There is no solution that would make every player happy. SE took feedback from the community and made a decision based on that information. I am very happy with their choice. I did the grind in phase 1 so I will pass on the expert grind this phase. I don't need the achievement. I am happy just having the title.

    If it's anything like the last season then ppl will probably be gathering and figuring out the new expert crafts in the first days before they go all in with the crafting.
