1. How long have you been playing?:

I have held a subscription constantly for Square's Final Fantasy MMOs since Autumn 2003 when FFXI was released for the PS2 States' side. I did not play FFXIV during 1.0, because the laughably promised PS3 version of that beautiful game never landed. I'm not a PC sort of man. I would gladly have played through 1.0, and I have many friends who did. I only recently let my FFXI sub lapse in 2019, due to my CC expiriing, and me having no reason to go back, since I completed its last storyline in 2018.

Seven full years now for FFXIV, since Early Access of 2.0. It didn't really hook me at first, because my heart wasn't in it, but the gameplay kept me around until the hook caught me.

2. What server(s) do you live on?:

Excalibur and Sargatanas. I've a history of living on both since EA, due to trying to follow my ex-lover and rekindle our romance. It didn't pan out, but I stumbled into a nice FC whose company I very much enjoy, so I keep a character fully equipped on Sargatanas at all times for them. My main is Excalibur. Occasionally I make alts on other servers, but no other servers have really caused me to stay for too long, cept for Balmung for a 7 month or so stint where I tried out serious RP, ERP, and all that hoo-hah.

3. Your character's race?:

Highlander Hyur - Male. My first choice and the choice I gravitate back to when I tire of the other races. I've also spent considerable time as Roegadyn Male and Au Ra Male.

3a. Do you have more than one favorite race? (Only applies to who fantaisa or have alts):
No, but I did like Xaela enough to have my main be one for about 2.5 years.


4. Any favorable glamour 'sets' you wear a lot?:
Late Allagan Aiming set, Proto Ultima Mesh, and Anemos duelist's set. I'm always inventing new healer glamours, and I generally come up with unique glams for each character that I play.

4a. Expanding on 4, what kind of glamours make you go "what the heck"?:
Extremely flamboyant ones. The kinds that are like, over the top. You know, a character with like pink hair with turquoise highlights wearing a thong and an open shit, but then full metal gauntlets, all hot pink, of course. The kind of glams, that in my opinion, make your character look stupid, by making them stick out like a sore thumb.

5. What's your main job and why?:
All eight melee jobs and RDM. I like being up close and personal. This used to include MCH when it still had Blank, and then when it needed to use Flamethrower to cap gauge for Wildfire window. But I love pretty much every job. My friends consider me to be a tank main, because that is the role that I put them all to shame in, and some of them are quite good at the game.

5a: Do you play more than one job?:
Yes. I'm quite active on any job that I take to max level. The only time in the game's history that this extended to all jobs was Heavensward. It will be the case again in Shadowbringers, once I finish my LP, I intend to go for the Amaro mount.

5b. That ONE job you want to pick up and "git gud" at?:
I am good at every job that I play. The game comes easily to me, because I have played it for so long, and I always take my gaming seriously. My BLM play is always a little rough compared to everything else. It's the job I have the least affinity for, barring Dancer. I have not yet touched Dancer.

5c. Which job do you dislike and why?:
Currently, I don't like Dancer. Not for its gameplay, I can't really comment on that. Its animations on the other hand are so gaudy and cover up the monster. It's almost enough to make me wish I could censor animations by job.


5d. If FF14 could have job from another game in the franchise, which would you want?:
Mystic Swordsman/Rune Fencer from FF5. Rune Fencer is the name/flair they gave it in FFXI, and I've love for it to show up in XIV as a dual sword wielding DPS with elemental spellblade WSes.

6. What kind of player do you call yourself (ex: Rper, casual, raider, social, crafter, all-rounder, etc)?:
Mentor.

7. What's the "typical day" for you when you log on (don't have to go into detail)?:
Daily Hunts, Beastmen Dailies, Tomestone roulettes on my main, EXP roulettes on my LP alt. Currently after that, if I have time, recording storyline and related battle gameplay on my LP alt for my LP.

7a. Anything that you "must do", because it's "required" that makes you annoyed?:
I feel compelled to upgrade my gear, despite not really needing to. This means capping tomes/grinding hunts in some form.

8. Favorable parts of the game that make you happy?:
Dungeons and PUGing Extremes. Any time I can get my friends in on those are exceptionally fun.

8a. Least desirable parts that the game could be improved on?:
Disconnecting during solo run Deep Dungeons = worse than getting kicked in the nads. Change it! The NA data center PF... ok that's a player driven issue, but my god.

9. When you use the DF, how many times have you had a "bad experience", and what happened? (can be vague or skip this):
Three or four times a year usually. Generally happens in lower level dungeons. Just random bullshit. The occasional kick by a couple because I don't play the way they want. The occasional healer butts heads with the tank over a disagreement about pull size or using sprint.

9a. Any pleasant experiences when using the DF?:
Plenty. Funny meme style name characters living up to their namesake. Getting all 7 comms from a clutch Tsukuyomi normal mode kill recently that was recorded due to being for my LP alt. The occasional, "Oh my god, your character is so hawt, doki doki" from complete strangers.

9b. Any improvements you think the DF, in general, needs?:
Give the person getting kicked a vote in the vote kick proceedings to take away couples' authority.

10. If you could have ONE QUESTION answered by SE's Developers, what would you ask them?:
Do any of you play the game and participate in the official forums off the record? Is one of you walking amongst us as an equal?

11. Your favorite primal?:
Oooh, a toughie! Probably Edgen's Gate Titan right now, but maybe Shinryu Extreme for all time fave currently.

11a. Favorite NPC?:
Ooh, another toughie! Hmm... it's a toss up between Hien and Alisae. Hien has this dry humor and subtle wit that the playerbase doesn't really pick up on for some reason, preferring to portray him as a himbo. His english VA really sells the subtlety too. Alisae is just... best girl. Unironicaly, her english VA is great, but also she's just got the best personality and is my favorite lady among the NPCs.

11b. Your favorite mount?:
The Skyslipper from Titan Savage. 4 person mount, hovercraft FF4 reference sorta thing, and just looks cool.

11c. Any certain fight(s) you like doing over and over?:
I've never gotten tired of Titan HM, Ridorana Lighthouse, Shinryu Ex, Halicarnassus NM/Savage, Exdeath Savage, Tsukuyomi, Turn 13, Turn 9, Turn 5, Turn 4, and Steps of Faith.

11d. How about a song you'd enjoy putting on repeat?:
Wayward Daughter. A Land Long Dead.

12. If you could have a house in any zone, where would you build it?:
Any zone? Hmm. Likely the Ruby Sea at the bottom of the ocean. If not there, then The Lochs overlooking the southern canyon.

12a. What region do you find yourself AFKing the most?:
Kholusia if it's day time

13. Anything else you wish to share?:
Nothing I can really think of other than, my Let's Play is almost to Shadowbringers. Looking forward to having the whole of that recorded and available for me to reference for forum lore discussion/debate.
