Need a fix for sticky controller

So, i have done heaps of research on why my controllerlags out and just inputs my last button making it that i cannot use my controller for maybe about 5 seconds. i want to start ed savage and honestly i am worried about dying all the time cause of this issue.

Now i do not have the issue with the controller any where else but FF14 and i also have been told that SE have to fix it as it is their issue.

Does any one else have any other ways beside uninstalling the roo enumerator cause i have done that.

I mean what kind of controller are you using? I personally use an xbox elite controller and it seriously works great with ffxiv.

You could also go k/b and m just for savage content

I use a regular XBox one controller. I don't experiencing any notable lag.

I get the same issue occasionally (and yes, it can make raiding memeable sometimes - looking at you running off the ledge on E3S because of a controller spasm). By all accounts it IS an issue on the games end and not an issue with the controller itself. Something to do with the games USB driver or some such. Disabling the root enumerator does seem to help but doesn't solve it completely. This has been an issue for years now though so I don't think it will ever be fixed.

i am actually glad that someone else is also having this issue, because i was going crazy over it, and thought it's on my end!
i tried the switch pro controller, i tried the regular xbox controller, the xbox 360 controller, a fake 360 controller, a PS4 controller and a razer elite etc controller, and they all have the same issue, wired or wireless.
for a few seconds, the game spams your last input and ignores every other input you make during that time, it is frustrating as hell.

you'd expect that, a premium game like this with SE behind it, they'd fix it.

but this issue will most likely never see a fix.

I had lag issue before with my controller but it was with a playstation controller, ended up being signal issues. Wasnt running an insulated cable to my external hard drive and it was apparently strong enough to screw with the Bluetooth, ended up buying an insulated wire and havent had an issue since.

Check in system management, or however its called in english (its where you get a list of all your hardware and drivers), for "Microsoft device association root enumerator" and turn that software solution off.

This issue is caused by usb controller resetting, or something like it, to detect new devices

I had that issue too and this fixed it. Also this issue is mentioned under several other titles on the forum though i cant quite remember the names atm

What Caitlinzulu said. I've had this issue back in HW and disabling that should fix it.

well, best resolution is change to new controller, but if you don't want to, it will be fine, my PS4 controller is way worse, but since PS5 around the corner, so i don't want to buy a new controller now and wait for PS5 come out
