Skybuilder Rankings - How does it work?

How does this work? I'm recently back from a very long (4 year) break and want to get involved but am a little confused. Am I too late? i.e. will people have so many points already it is pointless? Or is it reset each time? Is it a single or group event?

I've spent some time leveling my DoH and DoL to 80, but only have 1 DoH fully decked out. Is that enough?

I have practiced on the current expert items and can get to 100%, 95% of the time so believe I am ready, or is that overkill? Do you just turn up, start crafting and hand-in like normal?

You're in luck! The next ranking season is starting today (8.9) and will last for ten days (until 18.9).

Everyone starts at 0 points for this ranking season, so I wouldnt say you're to late, but you only have those ten days to craft and turn things in that count towards your rank this season (after that you can still craft and you'll still earn skybuilder scrips and points that will go towards achievments - at least if the last season is anything to go by - but those will not count towards your tornament-rank anymore). I'm not sure what you mean by "single or group event" - so to answer my best guesses: There might be another phase and another tornament after this. Crafting is also a solo activity still - you can enter the Diadem in groups, but also by yourself and you're not cooperating in that instance, so... gathering the mats its pretty much solo content aswell.

Depending on what you're going for, one DoH should be enough - there are seperate rankings for each DoH-job, so focussing on one (or maybe 2-3) to increase your odds is probably even better than spreading yourself thin over multiple ones (depending on how much time you have on your hands anyways...).
Ranking within the top 100 wasnt that challenging last time either (my partner pretty much did so by accident while turning in enough stuff to buy the sheep-mount - didnt really care about his tornament-rank) - ranking within the top 12 is a different story and one that might require you to basically no-life this, craft/gather 18 hours a day and probably compete with bots...

And basically yes: You turn up, start crafting, turn the stuff in - we'll be getting new recipes, but personally I dont expect huge changes to them... as in: They'll probably work like the ones from last season in terms of "rotation" (at least in regards to a "rotation"-strategy during manual crafting).

All in all: Ranking in the top 100 with the crafter of your choice shouldnt be to difficult - ranking in the top 12 could end up being stressful.

I saw that 'Number of Participants' was 1 to 8 Players @ https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...an_restoration. But you're right, it is for Diadem. I misread.
