That's my whole feature wishlist as far as things I can actually see them implementing goes, else I'd be asking for the ability to apply plates in any area that is not a duty.
I've been asking this for years! There's no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to do this. I don't know why we can't apply it -anywhere- outside of battle but being able to apply glam in sanctuary cities would be good enough.

Also I'd like to see the Crystarium able to change servers.
