The 3 Windows marked in green can be put on any wall, the 4 marked red can only be placed on original house walls.
Please fix it so all of them can be put on any walls.

They can all be placed on any full wall partition (except Verdant) if you place them from storage not inventory.
I agree it would be nice if we didn't have to resort to using glitches to place them (not to mention all the other things we have to glitch).
Oh really, that works? I only tried to place them from the catalogue. good to know.
Not certain why that doesn't work for you. I never have a problem with it. Are you maybe using a controller? Some of the glitches seem to be more difficult to accomplish with a controller than with a keyboard/mouse.
No, i play on PC
Are you trying to place with a mouse click or the Display Subcommand keybind? For this glitch, you can use the mouse to move the item to where you want it to be but you need to hit the Display Subcommand keybind twice to actually place it.
If you're not certain which is the correct keybind, you can find it under System in the Keybind menu. The default for a standard keyboard is usually NUM*
Oh, it works with the drop down menu, i just tried to click it, how weird is that.
You have to place them via what we call 'storage glitch'. Keybind the subcommand menu (an option found under 'system'), make sure that you have the top option ticked on (not grid placement, the other one), select the item from storage that you can't normally place on a partition, hit the subcommand keybind, hit it again to place, and it will work. However, if your partition (and by extension, the window) are too close to the original wall then you run the risk of the window snapping to the original wall.
If you want to have an item float or 'disconnect' it from its associated partition, then you can keep going: after you've placed the item, untick the top option, select the window you want to place, drag it away from its partition a bit, release (don't place it elsewhere, just make sure it's no longer snapped to the wall) and the window will float there even if you take the partition away altogether.
The method works with most, if not all the wall snap items such as the shelves if you want to jury rig yourself a round staircase or whatever else your creativity has a need for.

It would be rather nice to have these able to be placed on partition walls without exploiting a bug in the programming. Same for floating items in the z axis.
